Do you not think now the Labour Party have finally sorted the shadow cabinet and the leader can work fully supported they offer real opposition as a government in waiting?

People complain Starmer isn't charismatic enough or doesn't have that edge Blair had when he won a landslide but surely after Johnson we need to elect a proper PM that will sort out the issues created over the past eleven years sensibly and fairly.

It was quite a long way into the restrictions. Around last Christmas I think when yet more scandals broke and more restrictions were announced. I said **** the laws I'll make my own decisions and break the restrictions to see family etc. I did technically break them on a couple of occasions but always sensibly and nothing that I think many people would argue with.

During the main period of restrictions prior to us having vaccinations and during the first lockdown period I stuck to them religiously to the extent that I went shopping I think twice in two months and both time in the dead of night. The rest of the time I didn't see another person.

You may be right. But an election is a number of years away. So Labour and anyone within Labour are not even in the running. Here and now. What alternative do we have?

Name and shame Boris. Point out his faults. But who will replace him? I, like many on here, think anyone would probably be preferable to him. But realistically who is there? That is why we are stuck with him. That is why in this whole thread no one has mentioned a viable alternative to him.

I'll do it. I wouldn't lie to you and then take the piss out of you. Jay could do a better job than bozo. Fonzie could. Jimmy Viz could. look could. Biglil certainly could. Hell Young nudger could

Is that just based on your opinion, cos the polls of actual voters tell a different story.

So here’s an interesting question; if you don’t ‘support’ Johnson, and if you genuinely don’t think he’s doing a good job, why would you ignore actual evidence that proves other people do actually think someone else could do better?

    Not at all.

I am not trying to score points. I do not have a political view I am trying to put forward. I am asking a simple question - whilst I think all speaking on this thread strongly think Boris is not fit to be the leader if this country - what other realistic alternative (not Katie Peice, or someone's cat) can realistically replace him at this moment int time?

Not one realistic answer has been put forward.

Polls are only relevant when there is an election.
So who this side of a General Election do you feel will replace him.

Do you have me on ignore?
Cos I’ve just pointed out the very basic fact that Starmer is currently the nations preference between the two.

Because there’s literally hundreds! Despite not liking any of them there are quite a few sane ones on the middle benches. Pick one… or keep the racist one whose laughing at everyone of us.

Sorry did not mean to ignore you. No matter what the polls say. Starmer is not going to replace anybody until there is a general election. Who do you think is capable politically replacing Johnson now? And more importantly how are they going to achieve it?

I’m not an expert on the Tory party, so I’d have no idea who from the sensible branch of the party might become leader.
But I can tell you that someone will.

Someone is making moves to get rid of him, these leaks aren’t an accident. And I can honestly tell you that absolutely no one would make a worse job the Johnson. And I’ll also tell you that anyone who can’t see that simply isn’t looking.

It only needs 55 Tory MPs to write to the chairman of the 1922 committee expressing no confidence in Johnson to trigger an election of Tory MPs and party members to select a new party leader and PM. Johnson won't be allowed to stand. This is what happened when Major replaced Thatcher.

There will have been some letters today.

I hope you are right. It certainly is going to be interesting seeing how this pans out. Boris is going to have to do quite a bit of squirming to get by this. Time will tell.
