When did Ritchie rant on air?
He was referring to the players not himself.
We offered to triple a players wages not too long ago that player was on 60k.

1) Ming mong? Is he anonymous? Sorry, as I said, new(ish) to here and thought he a regular? 2) Consider: BFC expect offers in summer £1m, £2m £3m+, so do not offer contract to captain and so called "best player", with 1 year remaining on contract. Kozluk in, blabs about his "highest by far" salary and how much he was wanted. You're Howard, what do you think? 3) Howard in, sez, eyup..what happening here then? 4) Club sez, not in business of offering new contract..you still have one. 5) Howard thinks..**** me, thats what they think of me..well i'll leave if an offer comes in. 6) Still no offers in..still no new contract. 7) Not going well at club..TEAM not playing well, Howard gettinh 95% of blame from fans, not happy..still no contract. 8) 22/9/08..goes in and sez, no contract still..want to leave please. Club THEN tries to instigate bidding war. Is that scenario so unbelievable, given the VERY EVIDENT IGNORANCE OF ONE MR DAVEY???
OK - didnt hear radio interview so didnt know context. When did we offer to triple a £60k salary? Why the hell would this "info" be passed freely around? Or are you in the know? Whats your source for this accurate stuff? Are you an auditor at Gibson Booth?
If he does leave.... His comment about a great three years should be the epitaph both for clubs and player. His transfer from Swindon was good for the development of a promising, but lttle known player and it has also been good fo the club. I for one would love to see him have a go on the premiership stage, maybe with 'bit-part' roles to start with - they are not all 'super-players' up there by any means. Best wishes to him. I think that, on reflection, he will think that the move to Barnsley really was better than the one to Bournemouth.
Fair enough. It is very comprehensive and did seem to clear many things up..until MAV10 started tonight. I don't know, ya know? We all beleive what we want to beleive, but I for one at least try to consider both sides of the coin and not simply form an opinion cos he's joined local rivals. You gotta put yourself in his shoes and think what you would do...whether he has shafted us or more the club shafted him...really, would you do different in say...dunno..Hartlepool / Darlington.....Swansea / Cardiff or Liverpool / Everton mirrored situation?? I don't know.
The player was Constantine of Port Vale. The aver rge wage in League 1 was given as 60k triple that and you get 180k which was just below the figures quoted for the Championship.;
Average figures are released every season by one of the big accountancy firms. If you google it you may come up with the figures.

Ahhh.......now its starting to make sense..OR NOT!!!! Since when have BFC been anywhere but well well below the average in the Championship? Average salaries, average attendances? So if £180k is average in Championship, and £60k was average in League 1 (AT THE TIME), how much do you seriously think a BFC player was on? £60k = £1,154p.w. Lg1 avg. £180k = £3,462p.w. Chpshp avg. Howard signed 3 yr contract in Lg1, so really....YOU DO THE MATHS!!!! And I do know, I work for a big firm of accountants.
get a grip we pay reasonably good wages. Howard was the recipient of such a salary. No, we are not the top payers but the survey was for the AVERAGE salary of players. i.e. including squad players and best paid. I think its reasonable to assume one of our best players who had recently signed a new contract would be on at least an AVERAGE salary for the division he was in otherwise he would not have signed the fecker.
If you are an accountant I'm glad you don't do mine.
Fancy you not knowing that these figures are in the public domane
Ritchie quoted 150k, not me, and that was at least 2 years ago.

You are kidding aren't ya? Reasonably good compared to what? A butcher? A solicitor? What? You look at how much money we have compared to big hitters in division. Then think how many will pay less than us. We are consistently in the bottom 4 or 5 for attendances in division and are relatively cheap to watch. How does this combination make us anything other than well below average. I accept that we would be slightly above average in Lg1 but most of players changed from relagation season so......WHAT????
I'm not disputing the average salaries, just that we are anything but below average in the Championship. I don't care what Ritchie quoted, just look at one story - BFC v's one BH tonight...can't both be right!!!!
How much did Brian and his agent feel he was worth?
Also, what about the statements that he would only accept the offer from Sheff Utd?
