Is he part of the Conway Out group? Does he know a fella who works in double glazing?

Err isn't he suppose to be a right back i.e. main duties are defensive. He was sauntering back in the middle of the park without a care in the World looking to his right and completely failed to spot or anticipate Hernandez run.

If Williams had had the nous he would have'accidently' clipped the back leg of Hernandez or checked him as he was still outside of the box. Might have been booked but saved a goal. It's been done to our ayers often enough by experienced defenders in this league.

Was a lack of awareness if anything from Williams. Looks over the wrong shoulder and has no idea where Hernandez is, then when the penny drops it's too late and the damage is done.

He must have a FIFA awareness rating of 12.

If you get forward make sure you can get back, cavare used to get slated for it. But williams isnt alone think it was preston away where styles is jogging back and they score a similar goal.

It wasn’t just the pace he tried to get back prior - it was when he saw what was happening, and the ball getting out to Hernandez, the direction he went in from there was key.

He knows how quick speedy gonzalez (Hernandez) is - so run straight back towards the goal line or even slightly diagonally towards goal to cut off the run - but he inexplicably ran diagonally towards the corner flag and never got close.

It was a very poor piece of defending.

It was lazy defending. Doing the bare minimum that could be got away with. Sadly it's happened a lot at Barnsley this year. Players who do enough to make it look like they're trying to get back. The stats will pick up the effort but in reality there is none

He’d have had to catch him first. Hernandez had a yard or 2 start. And had him for pace. Very poor marking. Should be goal side to start with. A tactic that has been used against us several times. Even I could beat our lot tactically. Watch the games, rinse and repeat.

Agree. Collins wasn't great for the first either.

You are right & earlier he messed about with it in his own box panicked & passed it out to a Birmingham player 30 yards from goal but fortunately we got away with that one , but the lad has got plenty in credit this season & is allowed an off day , however he escapes criticism when others seem to get it .

Collins has a lot of strengths to his game but he does have some glaring weaknesses too. Last year Val played to his strengths perfectly however this season whilst he's still been very good Paul and Khaled have dictated that their coaches play Inca way that exposes those weaknesses a little more
