There seems to be a consensus that 3-4-3 isn't currently working. What formation would you start with tomorrow?

Why persist with 3 strikers when we haven’t got 3 good strikers fit . Plus we’ve better options in midfield to put an extra midfielder in team

Apparently he’s had success with 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-3-1. He needs to go back to that and stop trying to compromise.

We can't score with 3 strikers, so may as well reduce to two, and an extra man in midfield if that man is a 'box to box' midfielder. Pointless if we have two defensive central midfielders IMO.

    3-5-2/5-3-2.

Two in the middle worked last season when we bypassed our midfield in most instances going forward. Two in the middle now seems to mean that everybody else's midfield bypasses ours. Get another body* in the middle so we're not constantly overrun, and stick to two upfront.

*by another body, I don't mean Callum Brittain. A central midfielder ideally.

Did you mean 10-0? It would make sense given that we’ve no strikers or midfielders and the defence is utter crappage :D

Use Collins long kick, we didn't use the midfield last season so it's like a kamikaze version of that.

I've gone 3-5-2 but in theory my team (posted somewhere in todays threads) is in reality 3-1-4-2

The '1' being Gomes sitting somewhere between the 3 and the 4, breaking stuff up and doing the dirty stuff, allowing the 4 to focus on building.

Hope we abandon formations and just frantically swarm around the pitch like drunken wasps.

352 with the personnel we have would work I reckon. I think we need Gomes to be playing for it to work though, an actual defensive midfielder.

Win the midfield battle and hopefully we'll create more guilt edge chances.

I'd bring in shooting on site policy. As in if they try anymore neet tricks and flicks outside the box when we've advanced up the pitch losing the ball and we get countered they get shot with 5hit.

Might as well give Walton a run out up front. I doubt he’d be any less effective than what we’ve got already.
