I didn't take it like that, I thought Hemsworth was just making the point that RNL is more of a known quantity to BFC fans than Jennings, which is fair enough. Having asked a Tranmere fan who has seen him a lot, he says we should be very very excited about his arrival, which will do for me.
RNL on standby. No more than that for me, right now. He's shown flashes, but that's all he's shown. He has a lot to prove, and hasn't fulfilled anything like his early potential. Weirdly, I think he could even end up in a wingback position (kinda like Rafael da Silva?) I've said it many times over the last season, and I could be going overboard - but I think Kelvin can become the standout holding midfielder in the Champ. I think he could go for proper money, at some point. I really do rate him that highly, and locking him down to that contract extension is a biggie. RNL and Jennings are no comparison for me. Jennings HAS proved his ability as a first team regular, and scored goals - RNL hasn't. That's why Jennings got snapped up by Bayern within a year of being a first team regular, and RNL slipped further and further down the pecking order. Obviously it remains to be seen, whether or not Jennings can reproduce that. Competition for places in the middle will be fierce with everyone fully fit. And they can't all start. I expect RNL to improve under Flicker & co, but I can't imagine he will be getting anywhere near the starting XI anytime soon. The only reason he got a sniff last season, was due to injury & suspension. The fanboys won't want to hear that, but hey.
