The safety car rules need changing from top to bottom.

To start with, the pit lane should close the minute a SC is called(or virtual). I'd then try and put some sort of handicapping in place for the restart. Maybe only allow the cars to boot it at intervals(the gap between them when SC is called). This isn't me saying this as a disappointed Hamilton fan, either. It's an aspect of F1 that has always bothered me.

I would do the same with a red flag too. Make it so the cars are in Parc Ferme the second the flag is waved. Stop all this "Free" and "cheap" pit stop *****. It just undermines the sport.

It's simple you either let all cars unlap themselves or you let none anything else is fixing the race which is what happened the original decision was no cars unlap then Horner gets on radio to masi and suddenly it's just the 5 red passed that red bull needed and not the rest it's bent just bent is F1

Masi has to go. Legal challenges MAY follow not to reverse the actual postition and WDC but the financial implications . Lots of money involved in both WDC and Constructors final placings.
Basically it was match fixing on a grand scale purely to entertain the crowd. FIA have wanted to break the stranglehold of Mercedes all season. The worst part is we will have to suffer the odious Christian Horner crowing.

    Not off Rossi though
Been to a few in Europe myself and do agree some riders do get preferential treatment Rossi especially but just enjoy it more

That is a very accurate analysis of this race.

Basically yes they had lapped a lot of cars so it can go something like this (not the actual order but gives you an idea)

    Lewis (1st place)
    Random car (1 lap down)
    Random car (1 lap down)
    Random car (1 lap down)
    Random car (1 lap down)
    Max (2nd place)
    Random care (1 lap down)
    Someone else (3rd place)

    And so on.

The lapped cars are told to overtake and fly off round to rejoin the back. It's basically done to get them out of the way I think. Max and lewis just let them past and then lights go out and zoom zoom.

Problem is he only gave it enough time for some of them to get out of the way not all which is where the complaints come from.

They can't close the pit lane because some cars will genuinely need new tyres for safety. I believe that's the reason anyway.

Oh Rossi got some special treatment, once he left Honda those decisions changed overnight.
Do prefer bike racing of all kinds and 99% of decisions are fair uncontroversial. Not like that today, like you will stick to bikes in future

That can be dealt with on a case by case basis, though. The race should always be neutralized during a safety car, though.

That’s me, don’t follow it normally but thought would put on.
I struggle to get my head round Lewis had to lose such a lead through no fault of his own.
Bit like a boxer miles ahead on points having to give the other guy a free shot in last round.
    Really exciting last lap mind

Glad Max won but Lewis was really stitched up there. NASCAR always allow two racing laps at the end of every race., regardless of laps completed, maybe Formula one could look at something similar. Accept teams would have to allow budget for fuel etc, or extra pit stops, but would add to the racing strategy side of thing.

This is why I think F1 has shot it’s self in foot - they thought by giving a dead race a final lap shoot out it would be attractive to those non regulars tuned in / but people are just thinking ‘how has that worked?’

No idea how you can celebrate after basically fluking a win. He got schooled for the entire race, in a straight up head to head he was down twelve seconds and the he gets gifted a win. It's not even as if he beat him in an even contest over a single lap, he managed to drive past a guy on ancient tyres. Bet he reloads on Football Manager as well.

You're blaming the wrong guy. Masi made the calls not the drivers and all drivers celebrate no matter how they win.

No point in being faster if an official just moves cars you lapped out of your opponents way.

Know nothing about F1, so might be daft question:
If all cars had been allowed to unlap, would it not still have resulted in LH & MV being side by side or would they have ran out of laps by time sorted?

Biggest take here is that Masi is FAR too weak. FAR FAR too weak.

Everyone bullys him and he caves big time.
