    Yep.
I'm surprised that Hamilton isn't being penalised for deliberately ******* up the formation lap two days in a row. He has the 'magic' to get more heat for the start and knows bottas has too. Deliberately making everyone wait on the grid benefits the mercs massively but it's a clear breach of the rules and to do it two days in a row is taking the piss

To be fair it happens every single race and I agree it needs addressing. Just wouldn't single Hamilton out.

I haven't seen it to the level that Hamilton did it yesterday though. They were all waiting and he was nowhere near and today he left a BIG gap that nobody else did.

I don't blame Lewis one bit though, it's up to the FIA to police it and they should have warned him yesterday that any repeat today would be punished but I don't believe they did so fair play to him he did it again. Got to try and get every advantage you can when milliseconds count.

Lewis is looking very quick. The straight line speed is something else today.

Verstappen’s defence is horrible. Pushing Lewis off the track and then weaving all over on the straights.

Let’s hope Lewis completes this now.

Some Hamilton fans can't accept that he's finally got some competition. Had it too easy for too long. Bottas has been an utter disgrace in that second Mercedes, a loser who's got no backbone or fight.

How he didn't get a penalty for basically not bothering taking the corner is beyond me.

I think it's great to see a battle at the front, and Bottas has been shocking since the start of last season, you only have to look how far behind Hamilton he finished today.
Amazing from Hamilton to overcome the set backs of this weekend.

I think the anger is more to do with Max’s antics.

I can’t be doing with Max winning the championship. Or Christian “Karen” Horner either.

Both as bad as each other in general. Lewis has done the same more than once in the past.

That said Verstappen is a very lucky boy

Another legendary weekend for the greatest F1 driver of all time.

Penalties, grid drops, Verstappen forcing him off the track, and he still wins with ease.

    Lovely.

    In your opinion!
I'm just glad there's finally some decent competition for him.

Lewis has had some moments but not on Max’s level in my opinion. Max seems to have had more moments this season alone than I can remember for Lewis.

It will be interesting to see George in a Merc next season. But I still expect Lewis to come out on top.

I've no real issue with the drivers doing these things just upto the stewards to be consistent.
Having that mentality is what makes great racers.

I don't think George will be allowed to compete for the first year. They won't say it but I think they'll ensure their star man beats him so as not to make him look bad. Second year a different story.

That's not to say I think George would beat Hamilton anyway

Everything is open to opinion especially I motor sport when the equipment makes such a difference. Could debate for hours about whonthe best driver is.
Fact is Hamilton is statically the most successful F1 driver ever. Mercedes have often had the fastest car and if you offered then any other driver on the grid in his place his place would say no thanks we Lewis, I think that tells you all you need to know.

Exactly. The stewards have a very difficult job to be fair, I think they should make a lot more rules hard and fast rather than having opinion involved. Not quite sure how though

How can he have ****** the formation lap up today? There were 10 cars behind him!!!
Tremendous drive today, the drive of a champion.

I expect they will just let them race as you never know what will happen in terms of other teams performance. As good as Russell looked in that one race in Mercedes you would expect him to take a little longer to get upto speed in a totally car and team. Also the design of Mercedes car will always understandably be towards suiting Hamilton.
I think what this year has shown Mercedes is they need a stronger 2nd driver who can take points off Max.
