My memory isn't the best but didn't Verstappen look over at Lewis after he got out of the car and saw Lewis was trying to reverse out from under him?

Remember at the time of Charlie's tragic passing those I'm F1 saying he irreplaceable. So it seems to be true.
As I said in the thread i don't want to hang Masi out to dry, while he has clearly made mistakes he may have been put in a impossible postion. It looks to me as though the whole system needs a overhaul.
Rosberg made some interesting points about while never perfect you could have some much clearly rules around what the standards are for driving.

If I was one of those super quick (and arsed) forum searchers I’d bring up the thread. It was a hot topic of the general conversation.

He did, which he was doing while Max was still in the car which was very dangerous. Also despite being sat on top of Hamilton I seem to recall max doing the same which could have been horrific if the wheel was still near Hamiltons head.
Neither came out of that well in my mind.

was inevitable that whichever team lost out, would start bairnin'. both teams have been at it all season.

Yes I remember the thread vaguely. I wasn't talking about the thread, more about what actually happened at the racetrack. I'm sure he looked back at Lewis and saw him attempting to reverse which generally speaking suggests the guys ok.

Strange take considering without the safety car drama Red Bull wouldn’t have had much to complain about at all. Even with the first lap Mercedes/Hamilton just dominated the race. Was a whitewash and wouldn’t have lingered on at all.

Yeah I think you're right. Max tried to drive forwards, Lewis tried to reverse. Safety should come first

That threw me that decision . With only a lap of the season left you d risk running the car to the end , fuel or no fuel .

If the Fia had followed the rules and let all the un lapped cars through everyone would excepted the race would finish under the saftey car. Now the Fia have a real battle on their hands to keep this result as it is. They left Lewis out there like a sitting duck with only one out come. Ducking disgrace.

Perez could be heard saying nothing wrong with the car. They reckon they had major leaks.

That’s the part people aren’t talking about enough. Everyone knew that the decision they were making was just setting Max up to win. It wasn’t excellent driving to take Lewis on that last lap with fresh tyres - it was just an eventuality. The only excitement was the fact that Lewis got his car level and pushed Max after losing first place.

The protest regarding overtaking under the safety car has been rejected.

    What a fine mess.

red bull won. they don't need to find anything to complain about. that will change if the protest gets upheld.

You said it was inevitable. But without the ridiculous and illegal last lap decision there was nothing for Red Bull to complain about. They were hands down outperformed.

There is a feeling that they have thrown out Merc's appeal after hearing a round of applause from the Red Bull delegation...
