Did you not go to the games last season when Hassell played? You know the ones where we actually got something other than a drubbing?
Obviously you didnt because if you had then you would have seen that when Hassell played the defence looked like they were bothered and actually defended instead of running along side the opponents !
You are wrong about him, but that is your prerogative.

As an unashamed Bobby fan since he's been at the club, the only thing that worries me is that his legs might have gone..I watched the friendly at Frickley (on Barnsley Player) and he was pretty badly embarrassed by one of the Frickley forwards.

You been down to the well or just watching on player? May as well go down despite flicker being the devil if you'll be watching player as your 100% correct TK is overrared.

TK is not over-rated by me.......I think it is just plain and simple........a gutless, useless defender nowhere near good enough for any Championship team. Strong opinion, I know, but it's what I feel (he plays right in front of me as I sit in East Stand Lower, so I have a close enough view on things).

TK also knows this, which is why he was the quickest player to sign a contract as soon as it was offered to him. He knew he wouldn't get any other offers.

A weak link, that any manager with tactical nouse, will focus on.

Not watched a single minute of a game since January , I have listened to 95% of the matches since then, so although I have not been there I do know what is happening, unlike it seems, you that says he goes!!

I don't know how you can have such a strong opinion on the matter when you haven't seen any of the games you're talking about. I guess it's fair to forget about the 6-0 drubbing also? Neither Hassell or Foster are mobile enough anymore, particularly if we want to play our pressing game which requires our defence to push up and play a higher line rather than just camp on the edge of our 18 yard box and hang on for a 0-0 draw.

I can't believe this is football related. You don't start a player in all 5 of your first 5 matches then 4 days later cancel his contract because he's ****. If you don't rate him during pre-season you don't pick him for your first match of the season. If he's utter garbage you don't continue to pick him again and again and again and again. Even if he's not playing that well, you don't chalk **** on a signing after 5 games. If we'd done that, every signing we made this summer would already be out of the door.

Foster was subbed at half time on Saturday. If I was to hazard a guess at what has happened then I'd go for some kind of dressing room bust up during that interval. That's disappointing in itself as Foster was always the model professional.

There's been some right garbage written in this thread. Foster wasn't the best player we've ever had, but he gave his all every time he pulled on a red shirt, was a solid player for us, consistent and reliable and a great servant to our club. Despite a lack of money and the resulting lack of quality in our team since we've been back in the Championship we've staved off relegation for seven years, looking on as much bigger hitters than us fell through the trap door, and Steve Foster's presence at the back played a huge part in our continued survival.

Hope you get another club soon Steve and good luck for the future.

I'm puzzled by what people on here consider to be "championship standard". Like you say, he played a good proportion of his career there. It's not really open for debate is it?

He struggled a bit last season, but there's no way I'm going to be critical of him - or (like some) gloat at the difficulties he has had at Tranmere. It's highly disrespectful IMHO.
