They/Everton were very lucky to stay up last season along with Leeds, and it was Burnsley who went down instead. But here they are yet again, in another big scrap to stay up, and surely they can't keep on riding their luck.
I think genuinely he's done well. First he got Derby to a Championship play off final, which they won't see for a very long time. Moved to Chelsea and had to work under transfer restrictions but managed to bring through more academy lads then the rest of the Roman era put together. Went to Everton where previous managers blew hundreds of millions so he's had to make do with inadequate signings like Maupay that the likes of Anchelotti would have never have put up with.
I got that AI robot that Gally posted yesterday to write me a reply to your post. It's understandable to have idols and look up to successful athletes, but it's also important to recognize that success in one area does not guarantee success in another. Being a successful soccer player and being a successful soccer manager are two different roles that require different skills and experiences. While Frank Lampard may have had a successful career as a player, it's possible that he may not have the same level of success as a manager. That being said, it's still too early to tell how he will perform as a manager and it's important to give him time to develop and grow in his new role.
The only thing worse than that for a West Ham fan would be someone with a link to Millwank. They cannot stand him for joining Chelsea. It's a level of hatred they have for very few. You have to be someone like Paul Ince being pictured in a Man United shirt before he'd signed on the dotted line.
He’s been poor at all 3 clubs in my opinion. At Derby he had a very good squad already & got 3 outstanding loanees in - Wilson, Mount & Tomori. They were a distant 6th. At Chelsea he scraped 4th in a season where both Arsenal & Spurs had their worst seasons in a decade & sacked their managers. They were nowhere near the top 2. They only finished a few points above Burnley & Sheff Utd. It was one of the lowest points total needed to finish 4th in the premier league era. Dealing with the transfer ban is a myth repeated by his mates in the media. They basically sold Hazard & supposedly couldn’t replace him but in reality they’d already replaced him with Pulisic a few months earlier to get round the transfer ban. He had Kante at his peak, Rudiger, Jorginho, William, Giroud, Kovacic & Azpilicueta all at or very close to their peak. He had a brilliant squad with at least 2 quality players in every position & made them worse. He spent the majority of his first season picking Abraham over Giroud & Tomori over Rudiger. He then brought in or the club brought in Werner, Havertz, Chilwell, Ziyech & Thiago Silva & they got worse until he got the sack. He then gets the Everton job, taking over in January from Rafa who only got £1.5m to spend in the summer & his first action was to spend £40m on Dele Alli who hadn’t played well for 3 seasons. They were absolutely terrible for 2 months until Richarlison got fit & then they just did enough to scrape survival & celebrated like it was a massive achievement. This season he’s been able to spend money & get in some experienced players on big wages. Coady & Tarkowski have come in & he spent a fortune on Dwight McNeill who never scores or assists. They may be lacking up front but there’s no excuse for how bad they are at the back. If you can’t tell by now I really think he’s a poor manager. He’s been well backed at 3 clubs & made all 3 worse.
Harsh on Shearer. He took over with about 7 games to go with an injury hit squad that were on a terrible run of form. He was having to beg Owen & other big names to play when they were claiming they were injured but they wouldn’t as they were already eyeing up moves elsewhere
