Apart from an aside in a story where it just says he got to the airport and found he'd forgot it (doesn't say what happened after that), I can find much on this. But even if he did travel without, it was within the EU, he was travelling with a party of the Bayern team who were known to be playing in Manchester and that they'd be coming straight back, maybe for once somebody applied some common sense. I doubt they scrutinise all the passports for sports teams anyway in situations like this - bet they just let them go down a fasttrack aisle. Not sure why the comment that he scored is relevant unless you think that Man City should lodge an appeal with UEFA over it!
I cant believe how out of shape some people have got either. In any case a passport isnt a legal requirement for international travel its just evidence of who you are and your citizenship Its not always the rich and famous that get away without one either. A few years ago I was traveling with a group of friends to Austria by coach - as we reached Dover one of my mates realised he had left his passport on the table at home He checked with UK passport control and they said he didnt need a passport to leave the country but might have a problem getting back without it and also that he could have a problem getting in to france so they had to advise him against further travel but couldnt insist He chanced that French passport control would be French and not arsed to check all the passports on a coach (which worked though giving him a fright as they did come on the coach and check a few but then got bored and left again and waved us in) - He had his passport sent for the return journey though
Spot on, **** the laws, they don't apply for a person that's employed to kick a bag of wind around.....
