Yep. Like the lad at school who once told me if I started a fight with the '****' of our year, he'd jump in and help me. Did he ****. I got thrown about like a rag doll, as usual. Or some other **** analogy.
Laughing. That's what I thought it was on first reading. "That poem's rubbish John mate, I expected better off you."
Yeah, we've seen proper threats in our time... No, I think you're right - mainstream politician are in the getting elected business. And what gets them elected ? The backing of big corporations (and jobs after) and the approval the media. Lib Dems are pretty much defunct now. Hope Clegg thinks it was all worth it - mind he probably does, n what possible way do any of the 'hard choices' affect him ? Or any other MP ?
I agree with pretty much all of that. Politics should be about standing up for your beliefs for what you think is right or wrong not chasing votes by selling your ideals. I can't see myself voting for any of the mainstream parties they are all much of a muchness these days. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Really..... No - what you think their core values are might be horrible. But really their (sorry OUR) core values are - work hard. look after your family. help the truly needy - but encourage those that can help themselves to help themselves.. Be proud of being British. Save rather than borrow. Dont' spend more than you can afford. What the **** is horrible about any of that. FFS
I probably would though her voice is quite deep and she does have a whiff of the tranny about her so I'd make sure she was packing her punishment strap on first. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I think we'll have to disagree about that. You're a Conservative voter (I believe) or at least a sympathiser. The chance of a pleb on the internet like me changing your mind or even getting you to accept a single point I make on this issue is pretty much zero. You've formed your opinion over years and years of absorbing information and weighing things up, you're intelligent and articulate and you believe that the Conservative's political philosophy is the right one. As is your right. Even if I could put together the perfect argument, which I can't btw, as to why your political leanings are misguided, it wouldn't make the slightest impression on you. Years and years of life that have brought you to this point and way of thinking can be changed or even influenced by a few lines from someone on the internet who you neither know nor respect? Not a chance in hell. The same is true of you on me. Any discussion, therefore, is beyond pointless. But you can say you've won, I don't mind.
Seeing as it was the Tories that took us into the EU (EEC), signed the Maastricht Treaty, the Tories that re-organised Local Govt and gave us these horrendous Metropolitan Boroughs that serve only to spend money, the Tories that encouraged personal debt through their 'property owning democracy', the Tories that threw a generation onto benefits in the 80's - I think they stand for the exact opposite of what you say there.
and labour did nothing to reverse any of what the tories did, they are all wind and pi55 the lot of them.
I'm only right wing on immigration.I was a trade unionist for 20 odd years. Most of the old trades union men absolutely detested the common market, long before it was the EU and most who I'm in touch with think this country has gone to the dogs and they want out of the eu..These men were as far left as you could have gone, but now they have changed and their biggest concern is immigration. Please don't blame their thinking on 'the mail' because they wouldn't wipe their arse on it,they have formed their opinions on their own experiences. you say how far right society has gone, rightly or wrongly, depending on your view, immigration has caused this.
There's a lot of truth in this I know. And it's sensible to be concerned about the impact of immigration. To acknowledge it's benefits (to the economy) and it's negatives (pressure on infrastructure). Unfortunately the parties that are anti immigration are also extremely right wing. Thatcherite without the compassion... They clearly want to remove pretty much all the remaining employment protections. They recognise that a lot of what stops them and their rich friends exploiting working people originates in Europe. And that's the reason they want out of Europe exploiting the fears of people to further their own agenda. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Again - this shows a fundamental misunderstanding It's not about winning. Another thing I recognise in many Tories is tenacity. So I won't give up My point is not about Cameron or Milliband - both of whom I'd happily see shot. It's about you saying the the core values of the people of Wooten Bassett - who are overwhelmingly and traditionally conservative and Tory - are fundamentally horrible. I can accept that people round here think that Thatcher was evil. I can accept that they think Gideon is too. But a normally sane and considered chap like you saying that fundamental core values of Tories are horrible. Sir - I counter - you should reconsider your view. Can't you see why your view troubles me.
