Love em hot, but need a plate and something to cut it up with, the sight of someone slurping hot jelly off their fingers isn't one I'm keen on!

" Covered in melted pie jelly when i had done"... my mind is racing here

I am absolutely ROFLMAO... my filthy mind is making all sorts out of that statement. Especially when you consider the word 'growler' is often aimed at a ladies front bottom.

A Percys is best served warm not hot and with the jelly cooling and just starting to thicken.Take em out of the oven about 45 mins - 1 hour before you want one.

Dunt dribble so much then ;)

Although I must admit there's not much better than licking your fingers that are all sticky from growler juice :p

It may have been a mention from you on here that got me onto them. Long story but my other half and his mates have a pork pie thing going on - Friday nights after football. Anyway, as I work all over Yorkshire, if I'm anywhere near any of the recommended pork pie shops on a Friday ......

So one Friday I actually ended up driving down the pedestrian precinct (by accident), in Morley looking for Wilsons. Found it right enough, but the locals weren't happy.

Always liked a hot pie but when lived down south always conscious of that lot's incomprehension/revulsion. Bit like the Peter Kay garlic bread thing.
Pays to respect the hot growler mind. Got a bit too fond for a while, particularly late on after getting in with plenty on board. Once micro nuked one a bit past its best in a beer lust and knew even as I gorged it was going to be trouble later. And it was.
