Accrington by a country mile. Every football Club in the country has something to learn from that Club. Their engagement with this BBS prior to the game was off the scale - extraordinary. Honourable mention for Rochdale. Brilliant away end, proper fans, best PA (and choice of music in the country- subjective of course) easy parking and a Fish shop to die for.
Interesting that a few have put Tranmere in this list. I've seen plenty of argie bargee outside Prenton park. Even seen a Tranmere fan jump on one of our official club supporters coaches after us scoring a late equalizer (Anthony Kay)!
First me personally; Fulham has always been a nice friendly ground to visit. Both East Anglian clubs always had a good feel to them and you could have a good chat with their lot pre and post match. Shrewsbury - where some of their fans waved us off all jolly, despite us winning 3-2. Bristol City, on the three occasions I've been there, were a friendly lot. I must just have dropped on cos I've heard otherwise from other folk
Have to agree with Coops. Rushden & Diamonds best away game I' ve been to: tidy (new) luttle ground and the away end facilities, for me, have only been matched at Blackburn and Burnley. Shame they went bust but I can understand why
After the Accrington game drinking with a couple of their fans. Three things made me aware I was in very good company: 1. I was drinking Barnsley beer the chairman made sure he put on to make us welcome 2. Their fans said it was an honour to be playing teams like Barnsley (only time I've heard it said as genuine praise) 3. We realised our motto of Spectamur Agendo was the same as the Accrington Pals battalion who went over the top on the first day of the Somme, side by side with the Barnsley Pals. We drank a toast with tears in our eyes in memory of those lads. I can not imagine how an away day could be any better, short of an away win in at Barca or someat else that's never gonna happen
Salford was nice. Standing with the home fans talking about our players. One couldn't believe we had Mowatt.
Craven Cottage, Griffin Park, Gay Meadow, Meadow Lane. Sadly only two remain... Would include Carrow Road but it loses points for that bloody awful journey...
Man city and Leicester away in early 90's , they kindly just kept throwing money at us , made a tidy sum from their outstanding generosity.............sithi.
Certainly had a few, let's say interesting, visits to Filbert St. But my sole visit to the Crisp Bowl was ok.
