I may be wrong, but I don't think he ever did - miss a pen. I know Higgy did, on debut. Anyway I'll end my part in this thread by saying both of them are in my all-time best BFC XI.
Hignett is my number 1 all time Oakwell hero..... Barndoor however wouldn't get in my third side....would be nice to know if he had missed any other pens....i don't know i must confess. opinions opinions...all different i suppose. hth
how many years you been going 1. barnard was great footballer and played for his country, scored the best goal ive ever seen whilst at a match aginst Hudders in the 7-1 victory. He was superb that game and in most games I saw him in
but when the chips were darn at wemb er lee... he missed...bottle job. and played for wales?... whoppee do. ah well never mind, all a long time a go hth
You wouldn't say that had you been behind the goal at West Brom when he nonchalantly swept in the most sublime freekick with that golden left foot, after dispatching a penalty n'all to gives us a 2-0 win. Yer peckerhead.
Hardly a moment that defined a career though was it? You ask any Reds fan what they remember about him the most and 99.9% will say the volley against 'Uddersfeeld.
You can't base your opinion on his one penalty miss because if that's the case both messi and ronaldo are both bottlers cos both these players have missed penalties....and no I'm not putting Barnard in the same category as these 2 players all I'm saying is the worlds best players miss penalties
not at wemb er lee............... and i don't care if messi and ronaldo miss every pen they ever take from now on. My opinion and i have said all along in this thread that it is just my opinion, is that Barndoor bottled it and he would not get in my third team of legends. Whether anyone agrees is up to them but he ruined my night in London town and i will not forgive him.....EVER! hth
Was that the one where it was raining, and he slipped as he struck it, yet still found the top corner? Before running over to us and giving it the old pumped fist etc? Great days, great days.
He had his penalty saved. Keith Brown meanwhile was at fault for every Ipswich goal. I suppose he's in your all-time XI judging by your rules.
No. I was physically ill after losing and was home in bed by 8pm, so you'd have been spared that. You are talking ***** by the way.
Can't you just crawl in a lake and die. Dazzie B makes a funny remark on twitter. Good chance for us all to reminisce about what a great player he was, what a great team we had, what an amazing goal he scored, what a lovely person Willard was and what a diving, cheating little ***** Owen was. But you spend your time slagging off one of our own. You **** everything up, turn it all to **** and spoil it for everyone.
I also remember Barnard getting studded against Port Vale at home, just as he went to shoot - it still found the bottom corner. His left peg was indeed a wand. Magical player in his pomp, and to think he turned down moves to stay with little old us. Legend.
