RE: only got ourselves to blame

End of day, the rules state you should not enter the field of play. It is posted outside the ground, over the PA system and in programme (so even the people who can't read have no excuse!!!).

For me, fans entering in large numbers (i.e. Southend last night) is far worse than what we did. Why.... Good example, fans have a grudge with Ronaldo, great time for some idiot to target him!!! Not just Ronaldo, but any player can be targeted for a quick slap, punch, etc!

Personally from Saturday, the stewards let themselves down and could have prevented it. Happened too often seeign incidents involving the poor stewarding at the ground. About time this was reviewed, and if neccesary changed!

RE: No but you can act as a detterent

Give over, stewards... deterents...to drunken idiots.

Maybe to kids, but not to those big lads.

Its not the job of the Police to steward the game.

Entering the playing area is against the law

Stopping people breaking the law is pretty much in every police officers job description

Ask Shep to tell them....................."YER .............BARRED" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Young kid there stood on the wall ready to jump on the field
This kid looks about 12 years old
Who is going to tell him that he is barred from his local club that he loves ???
    I wouldn't
    Will Shep ???
Most are young kids in these pictures, some are older, but I'm proud that we have fans that show such emotion

Emotion can be shown in the stands

Are you saying that they are better fans than us because they run onto the pitch?

    What a load of crap!!!!!!!!!!

Carried away with the moment, no really trouble caused, would have been better if could have been prevented though.

The crap about knowing the rules .....So did 2 players who know the game inside out yet they chose to go the opposite way (players into fans) because of over exuberent celebrations and spur of the moment passion of scoring.

    The players by the way:

Shevchenco & Ballack ....The FA Sanction .... A yellow card!

So come on FA ...Wave a yellow card at the fans please!

Lets get a grip please, if the fans who invaded the pitch are real idiots then the police will already have their names and have the perfect excuse to take action.

Please lets not sensationalise this ....ITV did enough of that in the highlights on Sunday ...They stated severe security issues and imminent FA action ....Sky highlights just paid testomony to over exuberent fans and passion for the Yorkshire Derby!

you all complain about the lack of fans

the more we ban the less fans can come simple as, i think we should let them come back making the stewards a lot better draft more in and draft more police in and let all them who are banned back, the club wants to make money but oh no not willing to sacrifive anything

    Fair enough, but.....

....be interesting to see what 'punishments' get meted out to West Ham &amp; Fulham/Everton? for the coin-throwing incidents at the weekend. Let me see....over-zealous and slightly irresponsible celebration of a winning goal or throwing of metal objects with intent to harm??? I suspect we'll get hit harder than either of the other two....</p>

    Oh that's alreyt then ...

I managed to celebrate from the stands. 99.9% of the fans managed to celebrate from the stands.

Perhaps these lads "who didn't hurt anyone" must be more of a fan that the rest of us who didn't run onto the pitch.

Absolute bottom lime is that everyone knows not to go on, they chose to, we could be punished because they chose to ... if I knew then I'm shop them without a seconds thought.

Most of us are - these idiots wont have been all season. Just looking for trouble in the Ponty. Seem to remember they used to congregate in the eaststand lower by the north stand until they closed it down because of the trouble at some games.
