Maybe SD wishes to keep the matter internal...

and not wash the clubs dirty washing in public, thats if there is a problem.

Which ever way, as he is the Manager of the club thats his right as with any company. Can't remember seeing anywhere in the season ticket that says supporters have a right to know what happens behind closed doors.

None of our business and to be honest I don't care, i'm only interested supporting the lads at 3pm on a Saturday, whoever plays...

Then again you have a bee in your bonnet about SD and GS, as your messages always remind us.

Take some advice old ****, get over it, you'll end up stressing out. They've kept us up.

    COME ON YOU REDS!!!

Surely to make the statement and no clarification isnt good though

It would make sense to put some basic explanation

ie Kay wont play due to an internal disciplinary matter if thats the case - or if it isnt some other reason

You're obviously perfectly happy with the mushroom method

of management the club seems to have put in place lately. If Ihave a bee in my bonnet then it's about where the club is going and how.

    What?

Because Kay isn't in the squad? He was abysmal on Saturday.

I know what you're saying, but...

Davey is employed as Manager, he obviously has his own reasons for whats happening (if anything is) he's still learning and will continue to do so.

Why try and kick him every chance you get?

At the start of the season most of the lads I know saw 4th from bottom as a good season... look at the teams around us!!!

Chill out... Ya pressure cooker... and enjoy the summer

To be honest I don't actually criticise Davey that much.

It may seem that way cos I argue with certain people who come on here and praise him to high heaven. He had a very difficult job when he was thrown in, no doubt about it, and he came through his baptism of fire. I have no idea if he has the ability to take us forward any more than any of the happy clappers on here who claim to have, buthe needs more support than the the last manager or else we are not going to go forward whatever.

Everybody has a valid opinion, thank god, but really can we put our faith in Kay as the future of the club? I for one hold the opinion that he can, occasionally, be a good player, but overall he is lacking in consistency in terms of attitutude and approach and the club needs better in terms of defenders. Kay needs to leave for his own sake and the club needs him to leave for all our sakes.

I think that praise for Davey has been thin on the ground

Especially in the context of what has achieved this season. Most praise offered towards him is conditional - 'he's doing a great job at the minute but...' not many people have admitted to being won over completely by the fact that he has kept us up. There aren't many people that 'praise him to high heaven' (but that being said, you probably btt about eighteen posts from separate posters who have all given Davey an unconditional pledge to die for him).

For what it's worth - I'm not entirely won over either. Don't get me wrong - what he has achieved this season had been miraculous, but if someone told me that Danny Wilson was coming back for next year, I'd be over the moon. I think Davey would be a very good assistant manager.

RE: I think that praise for Davey has been thin on the ground

I tend to agree with the gist of what you are saying. Some managers are lucky in that they come into a situation whereby their name and reputation is equal if not bigger than the club. They are welcomed by the fans even more if the club's plight is at an all time low and things look as though they can't get much worse. Perhaps Paul Ince and Roy Keane are two good examples of this.

Davey however replaced a very popular manager who many thought should not have been dismissed. Nobody had ever heard of him either and his caretaker results were nothing special. Add into the mix that Cryne suggested we would get an experienced maanger (which many would inteperte as a big name in the game) and Davey was always going to be on a hiding to nothing.

The problem now is that a lot of people - especially on here - dont want to eat humble pie. Thus , the people who criticised him originally will only give praise sparingly unless he does something really spectacular next season (which will be bloody hard given this is after all Prem 2 we are playing in).

his caretaker results were nothing special-pedantic I know but........

    caretaker 11pts from 8 games 1.375 ppg

permanent 24 pts from 19 games 1.263 ppg

so he's statistically been worse since his full time appointment!

I don't think it's the fans that were asking for something spectacular.

More like a certain non-board member who seems to have got rid of the last manager because he said it would be extremely difficult and we would need a lot of luck to get back to the Prem. Add, box office and it's not the fans who have raised expectations.

To be fair to the bloke, both ofthose ppgwould be acceptable for the whole of next season.
