RE: Does seem an odd thing to go to the Chairman. Agree with everything you say. Richards is a good squad player at the very least. 100% trier. Shep doesn't seem to like that type, Shuker revisited.
RE: So what are the odds that.... What winds me up is that for all his moaning about southend, Davey has invited another bid. He has gone on record as saying that we want at least what we paid for him. So hes not upset at southend bidding just that it wasnt enough its disgusting
Out of depth based on one game at Championship level. and the 2 you saw at Bury. the most out of depth player I've seen this season: Colin Healy. the queue of players desperate to sign for Barnsley Football Club is the same length as the queue of wealthy benefactors waiting in the wings should GS and PC finally get stalled and walk. happy days.
We sack a manager for not signing players - you applaud cos it's his fault. the new manager still can't attract players - you applaud cos it isn't his fault.
Hmm?

It speaks volumes that he has to talk to Shepherd not Davey. THAT is how involved Shepherd is - anyone think that he isn't picking the team?
Out of depth player list: (1) Robbie Williams in midfield (2) Leon Knight (3) Tommy Wright (4) Dwayne Mattis (5) Grant McCann (6) Vito Man-on-me (7) Colin Healy (8) Kyel Reid (9) Paul Reid (10) Daniel Nardiello Have that. The queue of players wanting to sign for BFC is the same length as benefactors wanting to bring in "Box Office" names.
Weren't we always going to struggle horribly? No matter who was in charge, even if a reasonable budget was made available? I don't know whether you can accuse the club of chicanery with some of their statements. Even if you can (and I don't want any letters, so I'm not accusing them) isn't that par for the course in professional football? We have always signed players from the lower divisions - we even did it when we were A Massive Premiership Club. I don't know what people want, or expect. With the crowds we get, we're punching above our weight, and the signings we make will reflect the small attendances we get. Could our fanbase be increased with more ambition, or more positive vibes coming from the people at the top? Maybe, but probably not by enough to justify the expenditure. Clubs like Barnsley have to dip into the bargain bucket, almost hoping for the best. Until we get another 10,000 fans or someone willing to bankroll us to the hilt, it'll remain that way.
maybe hayes has seen the richards debacle and thought, it might be me next **** that, i'll go to my hometown team
If the money is right we will sell anyone. Even if we don't sell them the vast majority are out of contract at the end of the season and can look for offers elsewhere.... and add Kay to the list of those departing.....why he was dropped I will never know !
A lack of transfer activity due to lack of resources is one thing, and is probably something most BFC fans would live with. However, when you've sacked a successful manager for not buying players and stated in writing that you have 'far more ambition than you could ever imagine' when criticised for such, then expectations of transfer activity tend to be a little higher than before. I'm reserving judgement until 1st February, but I haven't seen much to be encouraged about in the last 25 days.
