Of course we are, we signed Ibehre, when we already had a player scoring goals in the lone striker role and Winnall back too.We will sign at least 2 more from Oldham, always happens and always will.
Allan Clarke brought in Norman Hunter. Viv Anderson brought in Danny Wilson. Personally, I think Iberhe has done well.
Not saying he hasn`t, but Waring was doing the business already though, the LJ signs Ibehre and Waring is out of the side. My point was rather that every manager brings in players he has already worked with and trusts, we have seen this many times over the years , some work some dont, but that is what happens. I was replying to Redstar`s post.
I know you were, mate. But Waring for all his undoubted qualities is still raw and inexperienced. Ibehre was extremely effective against PNE (when Waring wasn't) and Bristol City. Personally, I'd prefer both to be permanent signings to give the manager decent alternatives. I simply don't understand why the manager bringing in a player he's previously worked with is seen as a negative.
I'd be chuffed if we signed Waring, satisfied if Ibehre signed too. Lose Lita and Hemmings and you'd have to call that good business and possibly at little - if any - expense.
Like you, I believe he'll bring Liam Kelly in from Oldham. I also believe he'll go for Jonathan Forte, too.
I hope we continue with the policy of the past year of mostly signing players I have little, or no, knowledge of. The ones I HAVE heard of have, for me, been the biggest disappointments.
Yep, even the least well known loanee has proven to be our best. Big George. Disappointed with Lalkovic so far, has to be said.
I hope Lalkovic & O'Sullivan will be the threat from the wings next season. Hopefully, Lalkovic will produce his contributions against Yeovil & Port Vale on a much more regular basis.
The only time I've got any transfer suggestion correct was when we signed Iain Hume seven years ago. I'm rubbish at it.
Mate, having seen some of the players Managers have signed over the years at Oakwell, I seriously doubt that
