Actually BBC internet is legally available here we get limited features and programmes. Stopped watching BBC anyway as anything we watch is either available on Italian TV, Blu Rays eventually for series or Netflix. If BBC/ Freeview got their act together and ported the UK channels to the Europe side of the new ASTRA Satellite encrypted and charged subscriptions to unblock they could make money not just from expats but many Europeans who want to improve English or just watch UK TV. Also we have an Italian TV license to pay so we dont get off 'Scott free'

Of course that wouold mean changing the charter negotiating content licensing fees with studios etc. (Sky managed so why not BBC) but they basically are stuck in the 20th century.
