Whyte was very poor, Tyson was absolutely in first gear- hope we get one final real competitive fight from him before he retires.
Look like a glancing blow from the front on, but from behind you see it really connected under his chin and knocked his head back pretty viciously.
Don’t buy the ******** about mandatory for many years. He was only mandatory for a short spell. He turned down a final eliminator, failed a drug test & got knocked out. A lot of people in boxing need to stop with this ******** they’re coming out with.
This with bells on. And he spent the entire camp for this fight being silent/moaning about the deal through lawyers and agents. Said the other day his head just wasn’t in this fight. Not that it would have changed the outcome, but when you’re with the WBC President on the pitch at Wembley just 48 hours before the fight, you need to be doing more than dwelling on the ‘bad deal’ you’ve been given. Worth £8 million.
Looking at the highlights on Youtube, I think that was reflected in the body language. Even when Whyte came forward he looked cautious and focused more on self-preservation. Fury on the other hand exuded confidence.
It was thinking like that which resulted in him turning down the rematch with Joshua too, Ruiz stepped in instead.
You surely can’t get motivated, and in the right frame of mind for the biggest fight of your life, by hiding away for six weeks. Then when you do show all you do is moan about the money you’re getting. I quite like Dillian but at least this should be the end of his pay per view journey.
OUTSTANDING from Tyson Fury, made Dillian look amateur. I thought the best thing Dillian was doing was in the clinches, made it dirty in there which was necessary to avoid getting beat up and drained like Deontay Wilder but uppercuts are his kryptonite it seems. Fury absolutely cannot be called the "best of this era" yet though lol, Usyk has a strong claim right now. Also want to add two of the best entrances I've ever seen, big UK fight nights are really something.
Fury would beat both of Usyk and Joshua and I hope this retirement talk is just that. Because I'd like him to at least fight the winner for all the belts, then ride off into the sunset. It'll all come down to cash in the end. It always does.
Well I really enjoyed myself. Everyone was fantastic with my kids. Brilliant experience. getting out of Wembley was a bit of a nightmare…took about 1.5 hours to get to the tube
When we do England games it’s the same, everyone tends to get on tube going to centre of London, we jump on a west bound one as virtually no one goes that way, get off one stop down and jump on an eastbound one back to cut down on the waiting. Great to hear kids had a good time
Cash isn’t an issue here. Especially on the Usyk side if it ends up being him. He never talks about money, travels the world beating champions in their back yard, and chases only legacy and the best. If there’s a purse bid of over $40m for a mandatory against Whyte imagine the money that will be bid for the true undisputed. If it was AJ, and he’s defeated Usyk, imagine the hype and the sponsors for that fight? TV platforms and Warren/Arum vs. Hearn/DAZN are the only barriers I think.
Ideal world scenario: Usyk beats Joshua and then in December we get Fury vs Usyk for all the belts. Proper undisputed. Two unbeaten champions. Legacy fight. But with Fury having Francis Ngannou in the ring post-fight, it looks like that crossover fight is on the cards. Then he's got the WWE begging him to sign. Can see him rocking up at a Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania. Potential for him to go into acting, I can see that happening too. It's part of being a fan of Tyson Fury I guess. Never knowing what he's going to do. I think the only thing I've ever predicted correctly about the bloke in the 10 years following him is that he'll beat everyone. But I couldn't have predicted the career he's had. The way he went about it all. The drug issue. The ballooning in weight. The depression. The comeback. It's like something out of a script. And he's no angel either. But it was obvious to me from day one that he was special. Others took longer to convince. I don't think it's even a debate anymore how great he is. I've only ever cared/loved/supported three boxers, in the manner folk support football clubs I suppose - Naseem, Calzaghe and Fury (I didn't get the Hatton hype). Blessed to have watched all three. Two of them retiring undefeated, and the other should have been similarly unbeatable, but I think his demons got the better of him. But Naz is still probably the most exciting fighter I've seen. Mike Tyson's initial burst onto the scene happened a couple of years before I was getting into boxing as a young lad. He was on the slide by the time I was a fan. But I agree with the majority on Fury, despite being his fanboy - without fighting AJ/Usyk, his legacy will be tarnished. Like I say, hopefully common sense prevails and we get that undisputed bout, and then he can ride off into the sunset and do the other stuff that I've zero interest in. I have to say though, that entrance, the ring-walk, the music, him on the throne, then running to the ring - absolute box office last night. I had goosebumps. But the fight went exactly how I knew it would - a cakewalk until he finally landed between 6 and 9. Amazed at the folk who gave Dillian a chance. Like a Jaguar racing a Fiat Punto. Love threads that I can get involved in. Not many of them on here right now....
Good to have the ‘normal’ Whitey on the BBS at times. We can debate all of the above on the train to London for the Fury vs. AJ/Usyk undisputed fight later this year
