There's hardly a host of clubs queuing up to sign him. Hes desperate to leave but only little Barnsley have made an offer. I dont know anyone who thinks were a big club. not sure we are cash strapped though
TBH he got very little protection from the ref here. I not really too familiar with your refs in the lower leagues. I only really see the pem refs and sometimes Championship refs on the telly. I like to think they are of a higher standard. Couldn't be any worse. LOL
Obviously I think Dundee United would win, especially if they invest their £3 million from the Sporting Lisbon sale wisely. #WhatAPost
Well you seem to know more than me Andy. I for one wouldn't mind getting another season out of him. Like I said he is under contract and at United he will stay unless a suitable offer came in. And that is fact. Andy what was the offer? Any idea? How much do you think Barnslay could afford to go. realistically. As for your other points mate. Barnsley are now effectively a 3rd tier club but some on here seem unwilling to accept that. Which is why I said some BFC think you are a big club. Now I admit I know very little of the politics surrounding BFC but through reading the board the lack of money comes up on a regular basis, which was why I said your club was a bit strapped for cash. Sorry if I an wrong there.
Loko even before we sold Gauld our debt was bought over be a consortium of rich fans, buying it off of the bank. There was no pressure to pay it back like the bank was doing. So really we are debt free with 3 mill in the bank to put the club right. Obviously the fans will have to be paid back but I don't think there is any timescale.
If you came up with reasonable cash you might get the chance but would he want to play in Div 1. I'm not so sure.
My head tells me we are skint but hearing that we're after (supposedly) highly-rated players makes me hope we are just biding our time and that Danny does have something of a war chest. I suppose it could also mean the club fully expect to lose O'Grady, Cranie and maybe Jennings for semi-decent money so are putting bids in for players based on that.
Yeah you are possibly right Jed. So how much would you see BFC offering 200k? I think we'd be looking for 900k. So it would come down to who blinks first. I don't know but maybe we'd sell for less but how far do you think BFC could or would be willing to go?
Yeah mate I really can't see us offering more than 200, especially after already spending that on a player...900 would be well out of our range, and a bit daft given all the other areas that need strengthening.
TBH Jed there is absolutely nothing being spoke about it here. Its as if for some reason BFC has leaked the info out. I'd have thought things would have been talked about here but nothing at all. All a bit strange. Did it really happen?
According to some Dundee FC fan the bid we made was £1.2m which is as far as I can see unbelievable. He reckons DUFC will hold out for abit more and take money as the lad has 10 months contract left. We are being ambitious here and it does confuse me, wanting to loose our top earners and wanting to equal our record transfer fee, unless we've come into some money from the Stones deal or Panathinkos think as much of Steele as Dyson does of Paddy.
Sorry mate but I would not believe anything a Dundee fan said. I'll tell you now, if BFC offered 1.2 m DUFC would grab it in a second. No way that story is true. The word out of Tannadice is the offer was unacceptable and no more to be said. I've no idea what Uniteds valuation is but I do know we are quite willing to keep him till the end of the season and let him go on a bosman.
I think Hemmsy has got his mam to lend some dosh to the Greek outfit to get Steele out of the club Possibly trying to raise funds for a young German sweeper/keeper
