Apparently it got great viewing figures, and people are asking now is that it, finally!. No more comeback episodes, or specials. Speaking of special Christmas episodes, I see Hugh Dennis and the team are doing another Outnumbered. But the kids are all grown up now, its weird and just doesn't look the same.
Just watched Gavin & Stacy, a fond farewell. It's a documentary about the history of the series. It's on BBC Iplayer. For those who "loves it" like I do, it's a great watch - quite emotional at times. I enjoyed it as much as the last episode.
Never rated it not in the same league as fools and horses, faulty towers, vicar of dibley could go on and on.
Allus makes me laugh the way folk diss or like someone not really knowing em. How many say he or she is a horrible or lovely person based on a chance meeting for a few seconds. I'm pretty sure Jimmy Saville and possibly Gary Shitter had people fawning over em. And others generally decent folk having a bad day (like most of us do) slated cos they wouldn't engage. I once had a guy at work say to me after I'd told him I enjoyed a concert of Will Youngs on tv. "I don't like Will Young" When i asked why, the answer was "Hes an omo" I asked him if he liked Elton John or Freddie Mercury. I and others just laughed at his response. "Yes but they're not the same" Idiot
At his peak I saw Naseem Hamed ( Not a favourite with many) in meadowhell having lunch. A few kids went for autographs and he was brill with em. As him and his party set go and wer walking down the aisle a little lad ( bout 7ish)with his pen and paper in hand had set off from the far end but realised he was too late. As Naz was literally out of the Oasis a lady pointed out the lad, standing at the far end, to him, Naz turned and kneeling he called to the young un " Are ya coming" ..watching that lads face as he tore down the Oasis was priceless and the fuss Naz made of him will stick with that kid....nice touch that.
