Its more about our geo-political position in the world - the US have said we would be regarded as a diminished player, Putin is happy to see the EU break up. What's good for Russia and Putin, is not good for the freedom and prosperity of the planet, end of.

Its a purely hypothetical question and you cant realistically split the 2
One main reason for voting remain was freedom of movement which works both ways of course
Had the option of trade but border control been there as a brexit option I would still have stuck with remain with what we had

No way will we get that as our negotiated divorce settlement though

Sorry to hijack. In my experience they have already gone.

My last employment gave a change in terms of employment. You either signed and agreed or they sacked you and re-engaged you. If you signed up for the new job offer your terms changed with it.

Unions outdone and nothing to fight with (or in bed with them)

    Anyway

Interesting thread to here these views

It would definitely have changed my parents decision. They were in their early 30s back in the 1970s and were quite pro EEC as a trading zone, but they did not foresee what evolved - additional tier of government/bureaucracy in their eyes. So in answer to your question, yes, I think there is a proportion of "leave" voters who would have had voted the opposite if it took the EU to a trading area only - the common market effectively.

Thank you to all that have taken the time to reply.

I'm going to try and get my hear around all the replies I have received(got almost 200 replies across various forums I use), and use the data to put together a (hopefully) interesting article.

Again, thank you, its much appreciated!

    You Reds!
