No, a football club is for life not just for the good times!

It does feel like a life sentence though at times.

I don't think I'd go every week, I guess 50/60 % less games. Other things to do I'm afraid, more important things.

    Re: No.

As long as we're still around i'll be there. I think I'll probably enjoy it more playing in a competitive division, rather than what the Championship has become. There are a couple of grounds I want to tick off in League One as well, although Shrewsbury and Stevenage are trying to make me wait till the season after!

If we stay up I'm not going away anymore it's too depressing if we go down I definitely will make at least 10 away days. Season ticket I will be happier to buy one if we ho down as I'm sick of playing chests like Leicester and losing every week but I will have one either way.

    Re: No.

OK, Whitey - on the basis that you're probably looking for somebody to abuse, I'll take the bait.

Strangely enough, I go to Oakwell in the hope of entertainment. I reckon that 6 of our 18 home games this season have been reasonably entertaining. The rest have been dire/frustrating/both. £15-16 quid a game on a ST looks reasonable value, but if only a third of the games are worth watching, less so. And dropping into a league where the current owner will no doubt wish to further tighten the pursestrings is likely to lead to a poorer team competing (or attempting to) in a much poorer division.

So that makes continued support look like madness or charity. As I'm not mad (it's all the others) and there are far more worthwhile charitable causes, you can count me out next season. I don't want my "support" to go to paying thousands a week to the talentless individuals we've recruited over the last two years.

For first time in about 8 years, I'll not be getting a ST. I made that decision well before Flitcroft got sacked. It's not the real possibility of League 1, but can't justify the cost. I pushed the boat out this season, on the strength of how we finished last. With young lad turning 12, that's my ST + £150.

Next season, irrespective of league, I'll be picking and choosing. If we are league 1, then probably be doing more away games than this. Sort of 'been there, done it' in the Championship. New League and new grounds and all that.

A bit self centred and arrogant to say people are mad or philanthropist to watch their team

Just saying how it looks to me, Marlon. What would you call it?

Are you arguing that this season has been entertaining? And can you offer any reason why next season won't be even worse?

No not at all just saying I enjoy watching reds whichever divsion they are in but don't class myself as mad or a philanthropist although one may argue about me being the former.

I'll be renewing. The other option is to make myself knowingly available every weekend to our lass which will mean doing stuff that is a lot shitter than watching us play. £300 is a fvckin steal.

I don't abuse anyone on here, and certainly wasn't aiming to do so now. I was just wondering where folk stood, after a night of posts (last night) that were bordering on the depressive.

You're a decent poster. I like reading your stuff. Just because you'd bail on the club when the going gets tough doesn't alter that. Although, I've a feeling you'd still be at Oakwell. You wouldn't post on here so often about a club you'd so easily sack off supporting.

By the way, I'm not a season ticket holder. You are. So I'm not one of these 'better' fans. I do however, get to 90% of games and therefore pay more into the coffers so I could say I'm better if I was a lovely person like that. :)

    Re: No.

My support won't be any the less but regardless of where we play next season I'll be attending less. Changes at work and financial pressures mean a season ticket won't be worthwhile. I'll probably make the midweek matches (there'll be more of them if we go down due to Paint Pot Cup, I think) and a handful of Saturday/Bank Holiday fixtures.

Might have to sign up for the internet player - at least I'll still get to see the games that way.

    Re: No.

Going down wouldn't affect my decision to renew, I've been on and off with season tickets over the years due to other commitments so I'll make a decision based on that. Haven't done too badly this season, missed two home games but expected to miss at least 5 or 6 by now.

Tell ya summat though, away games in League One are miles better, some of my best memories of away days are from the last time we were in League One. Not that we're going down like.
