I haven't had a season ticket for a few years now and I have paid more into the club by paying on the Day.

Relegation won't stop me supporting the Club. It never has. I supported the Club in the old 4th Division with gates of 3000-4000.

When I hit 65 in a couple of years I will get one provided the club don't raise the age to 70.

I have seen far worse teams than this lot but struggling to remember many teams with so many players who seemingly couldn't give a toss. It's the real lack of pride, effort, whatever you call it that really gets to me.

I can accept being beaten, even to cheats like Leicester, but last night was grim. It's starting to make me question getting a ST next season even though I have been going the best part of 50 years.

I will hold of buying until I see what happens with the players and manager. Hopefully we get shot of paddy, Mellis etc who really friggin annoy me. I wouldn't let either of them drive the team bus, never mind play.

I'll still buy a season ticket but can't see myself doing many away games. Getting to an age where a mortgage is a priority anyway so spending the best part of a 100 quid on an all dayer following Barnsley might be stopping whichever league we're in

I've watched us play in all 4 English divisions, I've seen 4 promotions and 2 relegations. I get to games when I can, when I'm visiting my Mam usually and more so since I became a little less tied to the 9-5. I'll get in 3 games in this visit which is a result, because I still really enjoy going and as I don't have to endure the misery every week I can retain a deluded, optimistic demeanor. I don't expect my involvement to fluctuate any if we were to be relegated, it didn't last time.

Though when my old Mam goes, I won't have much reason to come back to Barnsley and would have nowhere to stay if I did. And as I can't really justify the £100+ round trip with London Tykes, that will probably be the end of regular football for me and I'll just catch them on the odd away match in rubbish London.

Alternative no. 1: renew ST and continue attending Oakwell.

Alternative no. 2: spend Setdi afternoons at home listening to Mrs. Grandfathertyke talk about cookery programmes, family history, GransNet, all the jobs that need doing round the house and garden................................

Now give me a minute to think about that one.

    Re: No.

Can understand that Whitey, cause I know you don't live in Tarn and presumably can't get to every game. How many do you get to? I suppose if it was more than (325/23 = 14.1) 14 games then you'd be better off with a ST anyway? You'd then have the option if you were unexpectedly available? [Prices assumed at ESL 'Coffin Dodgers Stand' level!]

I don't buy the "better fan than you" stuff either - I guess that's why some would say I'm very fickle about my continued attendance. The other thing is that unlike many on here, footy is not (admittedly by a narrow margin) my number one sport. I've also a Yorkshire Racing season ticket which, I have to say, has been better value over the last 12 months. That's the competition for our dollar that the club needs to appreciate, because the dyed-in-the-wool supporters are slowly diminishing. I think that Ben does realise this - although this year he's been stuck with what he inherited from his predecessor. Given the lacklustre season we have experienced so far, it would take a considerable offer/inducement for me to renew for League One. As far as I can see, the club owes us for the last three seasons!

    Re: No.

Wouldn't stop me going any less.

Will be renewing my ST and would probably go to more away games.

    Proper football grounds.

Unconditional, I would renew even if we were looking at the Conference.

My season tickets already paid for so home games are a given if we go down I will do every away fame too but not if we stay up we're out if our depth in this league and just get turned over easily away from home even by the lesser teams

    Re: No.

If I remain where I work at the moment (can see me being here for the long haul, climb the ladder etc) then I'll always work alternate Saturdays. So I'm lucky right now that the Saturday I'm off is the Saturday we're at home. But that'll change, it's bound to. So I'm not sure how many I'd make next season. I finish around 2pm on Saturdays, and living in Bradford makes it impossible to get to Oakwell before kick off.

But I could get a season ticket yes, because it'd still work out cheaper no doubt. But I won't. I like paying on the day. It means I can sit where I want, and occasionally get the odd freebie (depending on whether certain players are still here after this season).

Of course, I want us to stay up. I want my club as high up the pyramid as possible. One promotion away from the top flight, two rounds avoided in the FA Cup, no JPT, bigger crowds, big local derbies with Wednesday, Leeds, Huddersfield, Donny, the Blunts (they'll go up this year), Rotherham (as will they).
But I seriously would do more away games if relegated. And, it'd be nice (initially) to be one of the bigger clubs in the division. Plus, I'm sort of wrong in the head and enjoy us being ****. So I'm not scared of relegation and a spell in the doldrums. And I'd get to see us play Keith. Twice. :)

    No.

I'd be more enthusiastic under new ownership though.

    Nope

whether I buy a season ticket or not will depend on what activity there is in the summer (manager, players in and out, optimism etc) and the commercial facts ie what is the price compared to pay on day. If it makes financial sense, I'll buy one.

If we start poorly, I wont attend anywhere near as many games, Ive got productive stuff I can be doing on a Saturday. If we start well, I'll go every week and probably most Northern away games.

Same as this season, and the last, basically.

I am a sort of Masochist. If we are dire and losing heavily at home, I consider that sitting and watching until the referee blows his final whistle is an ordeal that I must endure. It is a sort of solidarity with the suffering of my team.

Similarly, I figure that when the team is relegated, it is partly my fault in some way. The fact is that Barnsley is my town, and that means that Barnsley is my team. That does not mean that I do not see that both have their faults, but I love them wart and all. It has been my team since my father took me to watch it for the first time in 1957. The team rely on me even more for my financial contribution through the turnstiles in the bad times, than they do in the good when I am just one of many. I would not walk away from my wife and I will not walk away from my team. In the course of time that I have been wed to the club, we have had our ups and downs, but I have never cheated on it, and I have always supported it by attending home games, through good times and bad.

    Not stop me...

Our kid might get a bit more enthusiastic if we start winning a few more (7 and he's sick to the back teeth of us losing and already starting to not want to go).

my dad is threatening to not renew but he has said that the last 5 years
