Haven’t sold anyone. Signed some potentially decent players. Would’ve liked some cm experience but understand our budget and approach. I’m not sure what is to complain about. Impossible to replace Mowatt.

Neither BFC or Liverpool disclosed the fee paid for Kane. Useful to remember that.

"Yeah, but the BBC/The Sun/Alan Nixon/Joe Bloggs said it was £1,250,000 so...."

They also had us signing Tom Pearce tonight. And Joe Bell the other day. Amongst countless other incorrect nonsense.

I just think he’s the genuine article in central midfield (and possibly less risky than taking a punt on a lad with absolutely no relevant experience) Personally, I would prefer someone with genuine pace operating out wide, either as a wing-back or, God-forbid, a proper winger in the Hammill mould. But then again, I am a bit of an old romantic…

I’d mainly agree though but think options in CM is doing a fair bit of lifting there. Not sure why anyone including the club think we need a left back.

Was the head coach also mis-quoted Andy?

Would agree with you, if we'd signed another central midfielder, or a left-sided defender so Styles could play there.

We're not very far from having two central defenders playing centre mid. There's a lot riding on the Man City kid.

Ben Williams and Jordan Williams can play on the left against the right opponent. Styles played there in his breakout season and was close to making team of the season.

I think if you’re looking at it as us being a club/squad wanting or demanding being top six, then yes we’re probably a tiny bit short. If you come at it as the club we are, with the budget, and judge the squad as a whole, then we’re absolutely at the races and ready to pounce on the top six once we’ve got settled.

The new loan signing is going to have go some to be less useful then Kane, let’s be fair. Styles is a very effective left wing back who has the game awareness to come inside, as we saw on Saturday.

    Collins

    Sibbick Helik Kitching

    Brittain Benson Gomez Styles

    Frieser Woodrow Oduor.

    Happy enough with that.

    Could be:

    Collins

    Andersen Helik Sibbick

    Brittain Benson Gomez Styles

    Iseka Woodrow Oulare.

    Plenty of options.

Looking forward to seeing M. Gomez, but otherwise a bit underwhelmed with the window. At least we did not lose our main players. Let's see what happens after the break.

If I remember correctly we didn't have a head coach when Kane joined.
