Stopped everything we threw at him that night and then went down like a sack of spuds in the last minute.

 

I liked Williams.

But I must have missed it when he became an established Championship full back.

 

I didn't know the details except that they couldn't agree terms on a new contract. If what you say is right it's a bit shortsighted to opt for a lower league club when he would have had a decent chance of regular Championship football for the sake of £250 a week.
For me he could still be at Oakwell doing a good job.

He didnt get chance think we had already sorted a deal to sign yiadom before the summer window and we had bree at the club. I liked William's but there is a reason bree and yiadom have played at a higher level ever since.

If I can remember right we offered William's a poor deal hoping we would get some money at a tribunal then agreed to release him?

 

I was and remain a fan of Hecky but could never understand his treatment of George Williams.

Tidy, solid, dependable and scorer of that goal. He deserved better.

George Smith? Never really understood what people saw in him. He looked like a headless chicken.
