Personally can't believe how people think we have a chance at the world cup. And the odds too!? Yeah we got semis in 2018, but when we faced a half decent side for something real to play for, we lost... Belgium & Croatia. I just don't rate Southgate. We have a wealth of talent and I don't think he's the man at all to handle it. Too conservative in my opinion

The WC this year will probably be the end of Southgate. Because although many nations would be happy with even qualifying, let alone getting to the knockout rounds, I just don't like his negative style of footy.

That’s never a penalty in a million years and if it was given at the other end there’d be 10 pages of absolute vitriol on this thread.

VAR has to go. Game’s dead at top level.

Well... a draw will do for me. Dominant German team, and we nicked it.
Personally, i thought our pen was dodge! Germany look like a good bet for the World Cup at 9/1.
Being an England fan though, obvs I'm content with that!

Game at top level has been "gone" for yonks!
Doubt there'd be vitriol on here if it was at the other end too... more concern in Wales or Scotland lol

Im glad to see Wuz that there are fans like you who do want US/England to do well, rather than those who just pick ridiculous faults for the sake of it.
And these days more and more fans in England say they only support their club now, but not their country etc. Weird!!.

I don't find it weird, personally. to many club supporters, this is a group of players that mean nothing to them on a footballing level. to many they're a group of cosseted multi-millionaires, totally removed from the football they watch week in week out. there's less and less connection with these people. major tournaments I'll follow, but friendlies and Mickey Mouse tournaments like this? zero interest for me.

The Arab/Yank Franchise Greed League must be the worst in the World in terms of success per £. Genuinely feel no empathy with any product of that circus - including the pampered puppies that make up the England team now - and that's from someone who followed England round the World for thirty years.

I can't disagree with the over paid prima donna accusations, that get aimed at the England players Marc. Yeah I know they are very annoying with it, and could do so much better if they applied themselves like they do with their Prem clubs.

But I find that odd that you say you support us only sometime. Thats like saying you only support us/Barnsley when we're in the Champship, but not in a lower league.

Embarassing :( Lock them up and ban them from any stadium forever.

is it really that odd? I don't think it's like saying that at all. I'm a barnsley fan, I follow them thick and thin. I'm not particularly an England fan, so I don't. as a group of players who play half a dozen times a year, they just don't really mean anything to me.

I'd say millions of people follow sporting events occasionally. Ryder cup, Wimbledon, Crucible, etc etc. I don't follow lots of English sports people avidly, but will occasionally tune in if they're doing well in a major event. i think that's probably a very common thing.
