Dalglish was better and agree with Mario that Souness was probably better as well - case for the likes of Ian Rush and Hanson as well - you had to see these players to appreciate how good they were - think people forget there was life before premier league. Lot of those ex professionals work for sky and in the media - just helps to keep alive the image of the Pl - some of us still remember the old 1st division

There's been one or two better than Gerrard in the Liverpool teams. Luis Suárez for one - maybe Souness, Dalgleish
There's definitely been better England players than Gerrard.

But no matter how good he is..........this doesn't distract from him being the most soulless, dull, unsmiling footballer in the history of the game.
I hope to God he doesn't start appearing on Football TV Shows.

Perhaps not, but blackmailing the club with a transfer request to leverage a fatter contract definitely isn't loyalty.

It's not but showing loyalty is easy when you're already being enriched beyond your wildest dreams. He was playing for HIS club, a top club, and being made a multi millionaire, the loyalty thing is massively overstated.

Lampard better than Gerrard for me.

I have enjoyed watching Gerrard though, one of the best players on the planet over the last 15 years. And to those saying he's on the wane, yep, probably is, but last season he scored 14 goals, created 13 and had an 88% pass completion percentage. 100% slip completion percentage though, for club and country, the pillock. :D

The Gerrard Final in Istanbul was summat else. That hit against Wet Spam in the cup final. His howitzer against the Germans for England in Berlin. He's had a stellar career which I've enjoyed watching.

Best LFC player ever? No. King Kenny, as the Liverpool fans would say. By some bloody distance. I'd imagine others would be ranked higher too, but I'm not a Liverpool fan so maybe they do see Gerrard as number one?

    Not bad for an Evertonian...

    Still prefer Lampard.

I saw all the players you mentioned and also remember life before Sky very clearly.
Think as an all round player , Gerrard would be up there vowing for there top player along with Dalglish.
Most Liverpool fan polls would confirm the same.

Maybe not but it certainly helps create the illusion of loyalty.
