I felt we were decent against a good opponent. We stifled them in midfield, and should have been a couple of goals to the good at half-time. Foden hitting the post, Phillips and Sterling going close also. Grabbed the goal second half and comfortably saw it home. I've no idea why anyone would complain about that game. If we'd have been more expansive it would have played into their hands. Can't disagree with anyone criticising the Scots game, because I did so myself. It's horses for courses and whilst it made sense to me to have both Phillips and Rice together against the Croats, to nullify the space Modric could use, against Scotland I'd have preferred (and expected) us to put Grealish in there and be more adventurous. I also think Trippier is our best full-back so was surprised to see him dropped. I'm inclined to point out that the opponents have a say on the game also, and Croatia were poor on the day I feel, just as I think the Scots were close to their best. So it all adds up doesn't it? Whilst I appreciate you aren't alone in your criticism of both games, I don't think you needed to post others' thoughts to help back your opinion up. It's your own opinion, we're having a reasoned debate. Nobody is right or wrong, it's just discussion buddy. Off to watch the F1 now. Have a great Sunday.

Liverpool and Chelsea were much better sides than Barnsley the week before we beat them in the cup. Funny old game football.
