Only place I've been whacked was when walking round a corner in Wakey. By a bloke in a group of Barnsley fans.
Yes you are probably horrified...........but then again I could have taken you down a local rat hole they used to call a coal mine - and I can assure you that you would be a teeny bit more horrified than you are now.......that's before they shut them of course It would probably be best not to mince through the shower block though
It's because for what ever reason no one goes out in barnsley anymore, it's absolutely dead these days
There is a guy here - that reading between the lines - has never had a fight in his life !!!!!!!!!! How weird is that? Being of a certain age - brought up in the KES era - we were fighting all way through the infant, junior and senior schools - thats boys and the girls. How was the hierarchy formed if you didn't fight for it? Then of course there were the daft lads that used to fight with the teachers on occasions. And then we left school - we went straight darnt pit - and when we came out into daylight we were out at night and straight intut boozers for a skin full. But in comparison to other areas in the district - like Thurnscoe and Goldthorpe - the TARN was relatively calm...........as long as you avoided the taxi ranks
Late 70s and early 80s. **** hit the fan every friday and saturday in tarn! The reason it's quieter now is that there is a larger police pressence and Barnsley is probably the most CCTV'd town in Britain.
Absolutely.........and loving it !!! I've tried being Dull......it just didn't suit me You need to try bonkers.......its much better than being Dull
