    Having said all this...

... I was in the cathedral in Pisa last Sept 06 and there is a body in a glass coffin near the alter. At nightwhen the cathedral is closed,it is lit from inside and a 'ghostly' yellow light eminates from the window. I don't believe in ghosts ... but you couldn't have got me to spend the night inside the building.

    Beckets Hospital Ghost

I know a chap who saw a nurse dressed in an old Victorian uniform in the park which is also a cemetry at the side of what used to be Beckets Hospital. The apparition then dissappeared before his eyes.

I mentioned this at the time to my Mother who said her father (my Grandad) had been in Beckets Hospital at the turn of the century following a mining accident and it was common knowledge that this apparition walked at night around the grounds. It appears it was a nursing Sister that committed suicide at the hospital and her grave is just over the wall in this park. There have been a few sightings apparently.

    If you insist

In Edinburgh a few years ago, hotel was an old house, woke up in the middle of the night in a sweat and convinced someone else was in the room with us, I saw the outline of a man in a cape and a wide brimmed hat near the bathroom door, next morning I looked and there was nothing there that could have made that outline.
Went down to breakfast into a dining room that we hadn't previously been in, I went to the table at the side to get some food, looked up and there was a painting of the man I'd seen - used to own the house in the 1800's!

I didn't mention to the owners what happened - wish I had now and got some more detail of the bloke.

The other time was in Spain and just conscious of 5 or 6 children in the room screaming for help - it was a new apartment so perhaps something to do with what had been there before.

    Barnsley Coop ghost

In the early days of the Coop in the Alambra Centre you had to go up to the top floor to pay for any furniture you bought on the lower floor. We were doing this one day when a woman said to the cashier, 'my young son here has just seen a lady walk through that wall' the cashier promptly said 'he's not the first who has seen this and all the staff in the store are afraid to come up to this top floor. When they do they come in two's and threes.

We have tried to work out what the area used to be before they built on it and there was around that area a 'funeral parlour' at one time.

Also my ex told me this one about Becketts

There'd been a number of deaths from a virus, she was working nights and looked down the ward and saw what appeared to be a blue ball of light go from one bed, up the wall, acroos the ceiling and down to another bed, and it did this to 3 or 4 beds. On the next rounds they discovered the people who were in these beds had all died!

I worked at BEcketts when it had been converted to council offices, and often worked nights on the computer system there....it just had a very strange feeling to the place.

    long history of that

a similarly dark skinned figure would often be seen running around Oakwell around the turn of the century, as a man in black waved a flag in the background.

recently been sighted at Donny and Rotherham
