Anyone ever bricked it at work ? As a young lad I worked at a massive old mill called Thomas Burnleys at Cleckheaton. Never actually saw anything but had a fair few experiences, especially on the old top floor and in the cellar where there were parts I wouldn't go. I still occasionally dream about that place nearly 25 years on.
But more recently - a couple of years ago I did some server / networking installs for York Museums Trust, which involved a few spooky places including the Yorkshire Museum, Castle Museum and others. I truly shat it when we had to do a couple of nights there. Again, never saw anyhting but I swear blind I was not alone. One particular place, where the Comms cabinet was, in one of the oldest parts of ancient York, I got so scared and was sure something or somebody was going to manifest itself, that my lip started going and I couldn't speak. Late in the middle of the night, some of the YMT guys asked me to go patch some cables in in the same place and I refused to go alone. 30 something years old, 6 foot 1 and I bricked it totally.
When I was young, my Grandma used to often look after this pub / restaurant called Paradise farm. I could have stayed with her whenever I wanted - in my teens it would have been unlimited free drink, but again I just couldn't do it. I've always had a feeling about places.
I used to babysit my young cousins in Scissett about 20 years ago and Gemma had an imaginary friend for months, who she called Mi-mi. I used to have tea parties with her and all sorts, just to pass time. One day, walking through Scissett churchyard, where the path was made of old gravestones, Gemma turned to me excitedly, pointed to one and said calm as you like, "Mi-mi lives there". I never did look down.
The biggest effect ever on me though was when I was contacted by a medium at one of these shows (I'd only gone for a laugh and to accompany a mate who'd just lost his Mum). I was told things she could never have known and to this day I am fearful cos of certain things I was told; just the whole scenario shuck me up.

Well thats me sleeping wi't light on tonight then ! !

Player died after a reserve fixture at Oakwell. In 1908 a Mexborough player Windle was badly injured at Barnsley and died in Beckets a few days later. I guess if his spirit haunts anywhere its at Oakwell.
Gender related.... it depends, if your a bloke you probably dont believe in ghosts, your solid dependable and usually cynical of things like ghosts, mediums fairies etc, if your a woman you'll probably believe in any old tosh...... not generalising though.
You're is the correct spelling and at least I'm not bitter and twisted like some of your postings seem to be!
Let's see if D/T calls you crackers then! There are many things unexplainable on this earth and people like D/T who have no answers resort to name calling and calling you crazy. Why?
player died after a league fixture at Oakwell from Wikipedia: "On December 27, 1920, Horace Fairhurst, a young full-back for the visiting Blackpool, received a blow to the head during the league encounter. He died at home eleven days later as a result of the injury" could be a pair of them wandering around, they'd have the place too themselves apart from 20 odd days a year
Went to Whitby a about 5 years back for a week, we rented a cottage near a massive aquaduct (pic below). One night we got back to the cottage and me and my brother decided to take the dog down to the river for a walk. We were stood at the bottom of the viaduct letting the dog sniff about and a few weird things were happening including stones been thrown at us and strange noises. We'd had a fair few pints so we put it down to us been drunk or the possibility of young uns dropping thing off the top as you can walk across the viaduct as it's not used anymore. The next day we got talking about what had happened, we decided that when we got back that night we would go onto the viaduct and take some photos and try getting something to happen. Got back later on that night, got the dog from the cottage, armed with a camera we headed up onto the viaduct. We were up a while and nothing happened at all so we decided to head back, on the way home something came running up right behind us and stopped which was quite loud as we was walking on gravel, all of us spun round (including the dog) and nothing was their. You could tell it wasn't an animal as it was too loud and it sounded like a human running not an animal with 4 legs. We **** ourselves. The next night in the Taxi back from Whitby i asked the taxi driver if he knew of any ghosts in the area, he spun round and just said 'Why?' i explained something weird had happened the previous night. He told us that when they were building the Viaduct years ago one of the builders had fallen into one of the partly built legs that was full of Concrete or something that was not set yet. They never recovered his body and is said to haunt the Viaduct.
RE: Beckets Hospital Ghost and BDGH Ghost?................... My Wife had the same room in the nurses home at Becketts in the early 1970s, which the Sister had lived in before she died.
She never saw her but says she could feel her presence in the room. The room was always much colder than the others and the door latch would open itself at night. The Sister was often seen walking the corridors late at night.

At the BDGH an elderly woman who was dying had a visitor who was always sat next to her when a particular nurse walked into her room.
The visitor was a sailor who was wearing a very old style uniform.
When the ladies Daughter visited later that night the staff mentioned that a sailor had visited her. The Daughter looked shocked and said their were no sailors in the family but her Grandfather had been in the Navy and was killed in the First World War. The strange thing about this was that he was only seen by one nurse.

What about the Stocksbridge Bypass Ghosts Funny Going - ons http://whiteroseparanormal.com/stocksbridge.html
What about the Stocksbridge Bypass Ghosts.......... In the early 1990s I worked at Stockport and I use to come home on the bypass and and then take the country road from Tankersley Manor to Allotts Corner. It would be about 9.30 at night and I had passed the Manor. I was about 100 yards from the sharp bend near the Church. A horse and rider ran across the road in front of me and into the field opposite and then disappeared. I had slammed my brakes on thinking I was going to hit them. I then realised the rider was wearing Civil War Army dress and had ridden through 2 fences.
I learned later that there had been a skirmish on the site of the golf course and several Cavalrymen had been killed.
I used the bypass 5 days a week for 9 years and never saw the Ghost who was supposed to be a Monk.

Many years ago before the Stairfoot Roundabout was built and the old bridge was there, I was travelling back to barnsley with a friend and as we approached the bridge a jogger flashed in front of us. My friend slammed on the car brakes and we both thought we had hit the jogger. Looking round there was no one there. It was around midnight and we were both shaken up by the incident. It was comforting to know that my friend had seen it at the same time as I. When we talked about it afterwards we both felt it was a jogger, but neither of us could remember it having any legs and the face was shapeless. It was a bit scary. I lived alone in those days and I remember being scared all night after that experience. My friend was shaken too and said he's never experienced anything like it before.
My cousin Dave hangs out at my place sometimes... ...and our old dog Ben often trots down the path to meet my son home from work.
Load of b0ll0cks Although I've never been able to explain Laura's experience that Crystal mentioned earlier .
RE: player died after a league fixture at Oakwell Didn't an Everton supporter die when we played them in the cup?
