As I said earlier , I don't believe in ghosts However , there are a good number of steelworkers at Stocksbridge , where I work , who claim they've seen ghosts in the works , valley and bypass . They don't say it as a joke and expect the usual mickey taking from the likes of myself ( I don't let them down ! ) . Some refuse to venture into certain buildings because of what they've seen previously .
I go on ghost hunting nights down here in Leicester ive been on about 6 this year i am not a beleaver though
I think I have. It was a Saturday night, well into the early hours, and I was noticing an increasing number of blurred apparitions everywhere I went, all barely in focus and speaking in strange tongues. I asked my mates about it the next day, and they say they saw and heard the same thing. Haven't been in Livingstones since. Spooky.
No. What is wrong with having a belief in angels? Are you going to criticise Laura for her belief in Angels and the obvious confort she derives from her belief? Are you going to challenge her as to 'taking the piss? I never saw any angels. I was going through a very, very stressful and traumatic period in my life. I was ill and the only person who could claw myself out of the agony I was in was myself. I couldn't do it, or thought I couldn't. In the midst of all this I had to be interviewed for a new teaching post. The state I was in I felt hopeless, it was imperative that I got the job to get away from a serial bully. The morning of the interview I was all to pieces. I looked out of the patio window and suddenly felt this wonderful feeling of utmost peace and love. I can't describe it any better as I haven't the words. I was told that I would 'walk' the job and to have confidence as all would be well. I had to be at peace. That's all. I did walk the job and was so confident about getting the job at the time of the interview. No one is asking you to believe anything but people are entitled to having an opinion. Others may not be as brave to admit what they have experienced on such a 'macho' forum. Also, in the last 4 OFSTED Inspections, I have been graded as excellent to very good, so I can't be doing that bad a job can I?
No I am not questioning Laura, that is not very kind of you to bring her into an argument. If such beliefs help her then great, there is no harm in it. She is a young girl with a lot of courage and from what I have heard she is a little angel herself. On a seperate issue I did not believe you were being serious that you believed in ghosts!! I am not not questioning your abilitity as a teacher. I am surprised that someone who is obviously of some inteligence is quite willing to throw logic out of the window and latch onto a belief in ghosts!
It's called an 'open mind' Conkotyke That's all.
Why should my belief in Angels be different to that of Laura's belief?
Why do you think I am trying to denigrate Laura?
I should think Laura and the Big Lils know me enough to know that I would never ervr do that.
<y point is how can you differentiate between us when we both have the same belief?
Laura is very brave and no question of that, however, many people have to face traumatic periods in their lives and have found some solace in their belief in angels.
It doesn't help that I was born and brought up as a catholic and belief in angels iin catholicism s very strong. At infant stage we had to say a prayer to our Guardian angel every afternoon before we went home from school.
These beliefs are ingrained.
Since then I have studied Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and in all these religions angels of some kind feature.
Children in my class have asked me about angels and whether they exist - I believe they do, but I would never try to inflict my views on them in any way.
There is a lot of good in this world, it's not all negative.

RE: It's called an 'open mind' Conkotyke I apologise if my 'ridiculous' remark offended you, but that is what the concept of 'ghosts' is to me. I too went to a Catholic Junior and Infant and Secondary school but thankfully it has not left me bereft of logic. I agree that people can gain strength from believing in such things as 'angels' and many people throughout the world do! That does not mean that there is any kind of logic in it! People have faith and that is exactly what it is 'faith' without logic or evidence to support it! So long as that is made clear, I am content. Glad to hear you do not teach the children that ghosts are for real .

Whats the difference between an Angel and a Ghost Both are apparitions but perhaps is an Angel is a Heavenly Being and a Ghost is a reincarnation of somebody that lived in a previous time and usually died in suspicious circumstances. I cant think anybody has any photographic proof of either, but I could be wrong. Perhaps both are figments of imagination
??????? I don't think so.
Why are you so bitter and down about BFC?
Today we announced a new signing, a proven striker with a point to prove and straightaway, you are in, about how good, bad this isigning s.
Do you EVER post anything positive?
If so, I have yet to see it.
I try not to read much of what you write because it's usually downbeat and criticising the club as in today's post when we signed Mackem.
You are a fan and have stuck by them, why not try to get behind them?
The negative feeders love your posts, they feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed from them.
Ligthen uo!

Well thank God for that! We both saw it in a split second
Both of us could recall what we saw and it was a body, faceless head, and disappearing legs - fading out.
Scary iIWILL TELL YOU.
