In all my years watching Barnsley, we have never turned bids down... How many players have walked out of here for **** all and its little brother.. next to **** all. Well not any more, if we want em, then they stay.

Not to mention he might actually enjoy his job when playing in a side that has some decent direction

The acid test will be when transfer windows reopen, or then again at end of season. and yes, he's a trier and you'd hope that continues. But his agent will be keeping him posted on developments, and remember, free agents get much improved contract deals as they are free of a fee. Either as a "welcome" payment, or just regular wages.

As said never been a club to be in a position to turn down bids. If they offer would have been in our interest and there was a replacement that we felt was as good or better then fine but its nice for a change to keep a player that the majority feel will do well this season. Dont personally think Bradshaw is the sort to paddy about it and let it have an impact on him.

I think it's more than that. He's an honest, dedicated professional. He goes out and he gives his all. Every game. I really don't believe how much money he can earn is on his mind when he's playing football. It's about doing his best, for his own sense of worth, and his team. And enjoying a sport he loves.

I think we've had some good 'uns over the last few seasons. There were a few games last season where we didn't put in the requisite effort but I put that down to very poor man management from Jose. We've had some right shysters in the 2000s and 2010s but although the spreadsheet is hit and miss in identifying quality, it does seem to come up trumps in identifying players who have some pride in themselves and are willing to graft.

Agree with that. If we were to go back up then we need to be looking elsewhere. It's hard because he gives his all and isn't terrible.

Agree. He's easy to like because he works so hard and he's not crap, he's good at converting crosses, but I do think there's much better out there. The figures talked about seemed like a lot for a player with his limitations. Anyway, we've got him now, let's hope he does well.

I said my only issue with him leaving this week would have been getting someone in. I suppose it's up to him now to crack on and get another shot at championship level either with us or someone else. Can't hurt us as either way he needs to do well this season.
