If we had invested in better players, we would have a better team, therefore finance has everything to do with our current situation. Hill went back to the diamond on Saturday having tinkered with 4-5-1 in the previous home game. When he tries 4-4-2 we are too open, and in any event, until recently our wide players have been injured. The team lacks pace throughout, but especially out wide and up front. With Davies out of the side there is no movement and no threat. On countless occasions during the summer and after, we have lost out on players that would have improved us because they could do better elsewhere. Would all these players have gone elsewhere if we paid a competitive wage. Would these players be better than those signed from a list of those nobody else wanted. Can Hill be expected to compete with teams fielding teams consisting of their first choices, whilst he has to make do with a team assembled from 5th choices. The attempt to get readers of this board to ignore finance in their judgement of Hill is a dishonest one, and I hope, for the good of the club that the more intelligent readers will ignore it.

I'm a Keith supporter, but there is far more to being a manager than spending money.
We were skint, selling our best players, on lower gates than present, in 1996. But did Danny Wilson bairn about it? No. He recruited well with little funding, got us playing great football, where a work-ethic and motivation was clear to see. We were certs for the drop, yet got promoted.
I am not saying Keith should be able to replicate that, but as I said at the top of this post, there's more to his job than financial budgeting. And he's lacking on so many fronts IMO.
I am not against him, and don't want him sacked. But stop the 'budget' excuses. The stats are shocking, as are at least 75% of performances under him. No manager in my lifetime has had the support he's getting. Nobody could question it if he was sacked. His record is embarrassing. And this from me, the bloke that wanted him here... it's awful to have to admit at times, you're wrong about someone.
I fear just maybe I was, about King Keith.
Just wish he'd pick Bobby and Reuben and half my anger with him would disappear.
