given the recent posts on here it is hardly surprising

RE: What a prat...they work for the minimum wage...I'm not prepared to do that

May be he has a mortgage covered by his insurance that he couldn't afford on a minimum wage job?

Can someone please point me in the direction of these jobs? Minimum wage or otherwise?

That only covers you for a year

    What happens then?

    Try the job centre

    Or agencies.

There are dozens in every recruitment agency window in Leeds that I walk past every day.

There are jobs where I work too, interviews are being held today.

    Barnsley's No1 Party?

Hardly. Labour still got 25% of the vote.

    RE: Try the job centre

I'm registered with every agency I can find. They have hundreds of people apply for every job, half the time they advertise jobs by law when the vacancies have already been filled.

And the job centre is my 2nd home, they have nothing.

    Its very, very slim pickings.

If he does then even more reason to get out of the pub and get looking for a job.
Or talk to the lender and renegotiate his deal based on his minimum wage job when he gets it.
Then again maybe I read it all wrong and given his wife works he spends his time doing all the household chores
and has her dinner on the table every night when she comes home. Unfortunately I can only comment on what is written
    in the article.

He would do well to remember

that if it wasn't for Labour there would be no minimum wage. He could always get a £1.50/hour job cleaning moats out.

It's as if the Sun journo thought...

"hmm... now the readers will be ambivalent to the news that all blacks will be thrown out... I know, we'll write that Fearne Cotton's friend will be thrown out... people won't want lovely Fearne to be upset."

Professional reporter? Her writing wouldn't even make...

wikipedia. "Citation needed" would be the response.

But moreover, how is it relevant to the article? Other than a dig at the town. I think it's clear what the motives for the article were from the offset.

    Exactly

    It's unprofessional.

    Hardly surprising from The Sun!

    RE: Exactly

But the real tragedy is, that the Sun is the most read paper in the country, and that includes Barnsley.
