Dont talk daft

Its not because anybody made a big song and dance about it. Its because people have used it in an offensive way. Its not the word itself but the context in which it is used

For example Glynnfuddy clearly used it as an insult but someone else may use it to a Pakistani friend of his in a friendly way

Often there are several words like that

Some of which are factual (like Brit, Aussie, German etc) and some of which could be interpreted as insulting (althouth not necessarily racist). For example, In Australia a Brit could be called a Pom, which many people find mildly insulting. German's are often called Krauts, French Frogs etc etc

I think you are right in that it is sad that certain words have come to be viewed as racist, but while ever that is so I don't think people should use them.

Only a personal opinion and I respect yours.

I was not talking daft as you rudely put

it but merely stating my opinion which i am allowed to do in a country which still has freedom of speech.
It may be daft to you and i may also think that you spout a load of crap but at the end of the day that's your opionion and voice it as you wish

    Yes it does

And I'm not. But I can see how it could come across like that. And it's not only me that it offends. But, as ever, it's just my opinion, and yours, which I respect.

    Racist words

No idea how the Pakistani community feel about the use of the word 'Paki', but I'm sure it all depends on context. I really don't see how a word could be inherently racist.

A bit like the word '******'got turned around by N.W.A once used by the black community, I'm sure 'Paki' could easily be turned around too.

Which reminds meof ascene from 'East is East'. Remember when theyoung boy who wears the hood throughout the film, sees the otherPakistani family arrive outside thegate..."Oh no, the Pakis are here".

'Paki' - you were banned for saying 'sponging Paki basterd' in reference to a 'woman in a ninja outfit'. Slight difference!

the sentence was im a proud racist if im working for my money and theres a woman in a ninja outfit with 5 kids that cant speak english never done i days work in their life i think to my self sponging paki basterd (please dont ban me for this mearly quoting what i said previously) am i not entitled to an opinion bearing inmind that abu hamsa can go on the streets of london with police guards preaching hate against us. wheres the fairness

That is not what you put

it is a dressed version of it. However, it does not detract from the fact that 'sponging Paki basterd' is a derogatory racist remark.
