RE: I've spoken with fans of many clubs

I just showed the video replay (of the Morgan incident) to someone who didn't know who the players involved are, and she said that it definitely looked deliberate.
She knows almost nothing about football though, but still... :D

Found something that say the other player suffered concussion & multiple fractures. Can't find anything saying how long he was out for but he is back playing. Also can't find anything about Muller getting banned.

I think muller did get a ban after their FA gave him an extended one

I seem to remember hearing that on here when we signed him

    He's had two shaky games...

I thought he was a bit suspect against Sheff Utd (I think... a recent home game anyway) when he kept trying to take on their forwards. And obviously Ipswich. Other than that he hasn't done much wrong. Oh wait... he hasn't saved any penalties yet and is therefore *****...

It looks very nasty now that I've watched it again, I hope it was just an accident (but you never know), at least I think it would be almost impossible to concentrate on catching the ball and aiming a kick at someone's head at the same time.

erm he's punched rather than catched ever since we signed him hasnt he?

I never said it made him a bad keeper, i didnt criticise him, I just said that the video shows him catching a ball which isn't like him.

"Rather than punching it to an attacker"...

Seems like criticism to me. I can't remember many occasions where he punched it to an attacker. I can't remember many occasions where he didn't punch it clear of the penalty box.

    And catched????

Sorry, caught. His punches often go to an attacker rather than a Barnsley player, if you're struggling to think of one then you only need to go back to last saturday when their player in the first half then somehow put it out for a throw-in to us.

I've assumed you meant an attacker in the sense that it's gifted them a goal scoring opportunity.

He might have flashbacks to this when he goes up for it so doesn't want to catch it in case it happens again? Although I doubt it...

You might be right actually, maybe he used to jump like that regularly but is now scared of doing it in case he takes someones head off? Who knows? But he definetly punches the ball too much which normally puts us back under pressure. I know that most of the time the punch goes out of the penalty area but if their player gets it (As they normally do) then the ball just gets put back into the box, if he's just catch it like I hope somebody of his size can then that pressure would be stopped and he could distribute the ball to whoever he liked.

I think that his punching of the ball is the reason I cant see why people think of him as god because he is not the perfect keeper that they see him as.

I don't really see this God status either. I think he's good though. I also think Steele was badly done to. Muller seemed a lot better before his injury, but that might be me just looking back and just remembering the good...

The injury Muller had will have affected him and his confidence. We arent even half way through the season yet.

He will get better and better and find the form he had before he was injured, then scouts from Arsenal will be watching him.

Hopefully. Still think he's a good keeper, and I still have that feeling that, when we concede a penalty, there's more chance of him saving it than the striker scoring. Hopefully his full recovery will come when the January transfer window closes, then we won't have all the speculation about him going again...

    No it wasnt

Not condoning the actions of Muller - he was punished possibly too leniently - I think he only got a short ban.
But he was a keeper in the air who put his leg up to protect himself.
Its not the same as a deliberate elbow before the ball arrives

His name was tainted in Norway though - one of the reasons he left.

    - Oh and for the record I havent ever asked for Morgan to be banned from football for life - I think he should be punished though by more than a yellow card. Personally I think a 10 game suspension would be reasonable with a longer sentence suspended should he get sent off for elbowing again

Well recently I can only remember him catching

Seems to have largely cut out the punching.

    i dont think so

it was only when the forward decided to jump into muller he went to protect himself.

So its OK to thrust a knee out at a player then

he did so to ensure he made contact with the forward.
What if it had happened to Mostto by Paddy Kenny ??
