You think because you purchase a season ticket you have the right to know or to decide what the club spends money on? If they wanted to spend your £300 on a statue of a **** and balls that's down to them. You pay your money and in return get to watch the team for a season, you don't get to dictate what happens once that money is in the club. If you don't like it, you stop paying for the service. It really is that simple.
I've never said we didn't lose £1m or any other amount. My point was. What's that got to do with renewing my season ticket and have the club really quoted the loss when asking fans to renew?
Empty seats week on week out are taken into account ...off set and then calculated into the losses....if I'm not mistaken...so easy to show business running at a loss ....doing so cuts down on taxable income percentage to be paid to hm tax office...not saying it happens but the system is open to anyone who kows how play the violin....any good accountant would know that....and which sheet of music to play from
If we'd been paying Scowen 1250 a week he'd surely have gone before now. If correct, he needs a new agent. I'd like to see some evidence before accepting that figure as correct.
I am not having a dig, but if these figures are reportedly, where have they been reported, It would make an interesting read as I have never seen actual wage figures in print, cheers
I"m sorry, but someone posting a list of what individual players wages are is meaningless, unless it clearly shows a balance sheet showing individuals wages. I think there is a lot of speculation about who earns what, but thats what it is, pure speculation.
Well, the only figure we were given was a £1m loss. Everything else has to be based on that figure. If you were asked to "invest" £300 into a business that was losing money - wouldn't you want to know why?
It's common practice nowadays that loans have an upfront fee to them. Premier League clubs sometimes discount on wages, but they are much less a helping hand than they are, a slight subsidy, or in some cases, another revenue stream for the top flight. My instinct for some years has been we pay a vast amount in loan signing on fees and subsequent wages, and til recent years, we rarely have any form of transfer fee to offset such costs. But of course, that's just an educated guess on my part.
You're a customer paying an annual subscription. At the end of that period you choose to renew or you choose not to renew.
I've said this before and I'll say it again - if football supporters are "customers" the game is ******.
This is it, Conan talks as if we are Shareholders or something, we are simply being invited/ encouraged to pay up front for a season of league football at a much cheaper rate than if we were to turn up and pay on the day for a full season. If I was as pessimistic about next season and feeling all doom and gloom as some are on here, then I wouldn't renew. I'd probably wait and if all was well I'd buy a half season ticket later. I will look at next season in hope rather than in expectation as I always do. The close season promises to be one of the most interesting we've had for a long time.
I am sorry, but you are not investing in a business, you are paying your £300 to watch football. Its the same as anything else, if you are not happy with the product, dont buy it, or buy your product elsewhere.
What are your thoughts on Leyton Orient fans and their protest on Saturday? Should they go and do something else? (Not comparing our situation with theirs btw)
First of all, I do not know the ins & outs of Leyton Orient, apart from the fact they have had recent change of ownership, incidently, a thing what a lot of keyboard warriors crave for on this site, & instead of league football , they are going into the conference. I can only presume they are dissatisfied with their situation. The league 2 competition over a season, will always end with two clubs being relegated, however, if everytime a club gets relegated, it results in mass protests then we are in a sad era. I have watched the reds since 1961 & I am sure you will know I have witnessed a few relegations in that time & it is awfwl, but it goes with the territory of being a fan. I would say to Orient fans, you have my sympathy but things go in cycles & you only have to Lincoln as an example, lost their league status but have bounced back & also been to the FA cup quarter finals, its just part of the roller coaster. To conclude what I said previously, when I buy my season tickets, its not to invest, it is to watch my club & the day I stop enjoying it, I will call it a day.
The day when the are treat as captive is the day the game is ****** Yet you're one of the first to criticise the customer experience
