Hope we don’t tbh. Got worse as the season went on.

Playing with an injury though apparently. The points he saved us early on in the season is the reason we finished in the play offs at all. On a free, I think he's worth it - especially if that means we have more funds elsewhere on the pitch. His distribution is very poor but he was truly brilliant earlier on in the season, to the point where we were all saying pay X amount before the Jan window opened.

A penalty with xg is around 0.76%, meaning the player has 76% chance to score. Roberts' expected save rate/xg prevention was boosted by almost 8 (iirc) at one point, meaning some of his saves he pulled of, the quality of chance he kept out, in layman's terms equalled to saving around 10 penalties. If he passes his medical & obviously Clarke likes the look of him, I'd definitely have no issue signing him permanently bud. It certainly is a shame he couldn't keep that early form up.

“At one point” is the problem he didn’t do it all season. He might be free but he’s also quite old. I’d be disappointed if we signed him. I think he’s an adequate league 1 keeper. I’d like us to sign a very good keeper for the level who could become a championship keeper. Roberts was a long way off championship level in my eyes.

He tailed off after his injury and failed to command the 6yard area tending to stay on his line too much.

Aye I agree mate consistency is what we need, but what I'm saying is that injury could have had more of an impact and lasted longer than we assumed. Killip isn't up to scratch so perhaps we 'forced' him to play.

I hope we do but can’t see it. Think he’ll get one last chance as a low end Champ club. Said Wednesday a few weeks back and wouldn’t surprise me if that was still the case.

Will we..? We've lost six starters from a team that failed in it's quest for promotion. And the only replacements is a player/coach who the head coach says will only play when required..
And players returning from loans who weren't deemed good enough last season..
I'd say we're looking far from reyt at the minute..

If we’re in the same position at the start of the season then I’ll agree with you but I’m happy to sit and wait until then.

Not panicking just yet, there’s plenty of time left to get players through the door. The one trepidation I have though is the quality of player we bring in. Are they all going to be none league punts ala Dallas & Lopata?

Just look at the BBC Sport web site under Football - transfers. Don’t Panic, Don’t Panic.
