How can we have a smaller budget than rotherham? Even when their away end is sold out they struggle to break 10k fans.
We shall see. The fact he has started anywhere but central midfield perhaps shows what the club think.
Doesn't weight up for me! I went to Burton we sold out the away end 1800 and they wasn't 5k in the whole ground so that's less than 3200 home fans and we have a lower budget am not buying it.
Played there for leeds plenty of times and I think we signed him to play there would be strange if we signed him to play behind the front two as we would have williams moncur mowatt all signed to play that position and we're linked to mcgeehan from Luton too who plays that role
My Leeds supporting mates say differently about 80 percent of his games played in the hole. I am only going on what I have been told. Presumes that both Williams (out of contract) and Moncur out of favour will be here.
Because every season since PC took over - the bath water has been thrown out and unfortunately the baby has gone with it. As I've been saying for years now - nothing is being built at Barnsley- the leadership of the club are reliant on the hard work of the management team to keep the interest going. It's about time the manager, especially this particular manager, was given proper support by the directors. That support includes a proper system of developing players making them eventually ready to be moved on - which obviously means a proper system of players contracts.
So how much more do you think we spend on the academy compared to what they spend on their youth set up?
I don't know that's the only explanation I can give to the profit/loss issue. Like I said though if burton and rotherham have bigger budgets than us something not right. They was a only a few hundred less in the away end last game of Burton's average total attendance.
Said it in an interview I believe referencing wage rather than transfer budget. This would be reflected in the differing transfer policies where they have gone for Championship experience (and higher wages) whereas we have gone for potential.
When we was in league one we had one of the biggest budgets in the division. Especially the 1st season when we came down from the championship. Burton had one of the smallest I'm at a loss to how burton now have a bigger budget than us. Unless they are spending.money they don't have and racking up debt in order to stay in this league.
From some research Burton have a category 3 academy, while we have a category 2. These numbers are just a guide not a rule, but it may provide some answers. A category 1 Academy budget is expected at around £2.5m a year A category 2 Academy budget is expected at around £1m a year. A category 3 Academy budget is expected at around £300k a year. A category 4 Academy budget is expected at around £100k a year. Given the recent successes of our academy (over the last 5 years or so) I dont think it's out of the question that we spend a lot more than £1m a year.
With the sales of Stones (final total) Holgate and Bree it will have broken even. Interesting to see who is next given not one is gettngin the match day squad at present.
