Ray McHale. He had more sides than a threepenny bit, 11 I think. Good lad, I got drunk with him in Hong Kong when he was on tour with Sheff. Utd.

I've passed through some remote villages in North Wales where the whole village look like that, some made Royston Vassey look like a documentary not a comedy show

Chris Jackson and Colin Walker, two forwards who for different reasons didn't get the chance to play more for the club.

Jan Molby. Wasn't here long, we struggled to find a shirt that would go over his belly and he rarely left the centre circle but boy could he pass the ball.

    Kiwi lad?

Always rated him. Scored a good goal from memory - a volley.

Rory Fallon was the other Kiwi - about same time?

McHale was the pivot in that midfield.

Brendan O'Connell and Nicky Eaden are the two most underrated Barnsley players in my lifetime by a long distance. The stick they both got from the crowd around me, I never understood it as a kid. Nicky used to get the ball and you'd hear the fans instantly start moaning at him. "Do summat then, Eaden" and nonsense like that, as soon as he got the ball.

It's weird, because some never get that kind of reaction. They make an error and nothing said. But woe betide Nicky Eaden making one. I'll tell you what he did make - about 100 goals for his colleagues. Ridiculous right foot on him.

Brendan didn't cop for too much during games, but was the butt of jokes at half time, my dad couldn't stand him either. Him not rating him made me even more determined to love the bloke. I was gutted as a 14-year-old when he left, I'd have loved him to be part of that promotion season.

Honourable mentions for Lee Jones who was almost exclusively used as a sub, or given a couple of starts and if he didn't score he'd get dropped again. I always rated him, had summat about him.
And in recent times, Andy Yiadom was one of the best lower league finds we'll ever pull off.

To the chap who mentioned Arismendi - it takes allsorts.

Anyone remember Simon Whaley? On loan winger, about the same time as Jay Rodriguez. Got a couple of assists

Paul Cross was a very good full back. Unfortunately his career was ruined by injury.
