I was thinking about that exact thing after I wrote it. Good to read such a good account of it. Thanks for making me smile.

He'll do neither if he plays him at centre back :p

I'm happy to see him back, loved him first time around. I'm old enough and wise enough to know it doesn't always happen 2nd time around though.

If I see any negative in the deal at all, it just smacks a bit of the Vaz Te deal. That is to say if it doesn't work out, it hasn't cost us much, but if it DOES work out it could be a very short stay (Jan?) with a deal in place to say we can sell him on for a pittance.

Fingers crossed, I'll be fully behind the lad.

I'm sure if he starts banging them in people will forget his past like Oldham fans did with Lee Hughes, Birmingham fans with Marlon King etc. I just don't see it working. How often if ever does someone come back a second time and it works? Danny Wilson sacked quickly, Ramage back to see relegation, Pearson back to see a relegation battle etc. We only got him first time around due to a clause he insisted in his contract that meant we had to sell him on the cheap. At least then he was young and had potential. Maybe he will come good, maybe he won't. But the clamour to bring people back is worrying. I think even Mick McCarthy being brought back as manager we'd struggle.

Comparing Hammill to Hughes and King is fecking ridiculous.

Only that they all have previous. Obviously what Adam did isn't at anywhere like the same level. As long as people bang in goals folks don't tend to care what they are like as a person. Liverpool fans would have Suarez back in an heartbeat. Chelsea fans wouldn't want Costa to leave.

We wait to see if the move turns out to be good. Gotta be a first time for someone coming back to us and it working out :D

Lee Hughes - killed someone whilst driving recklessly, possibly whilst drunk.
Marlon King - 14 convictions for offences including violence against women.
Adam Hammill - wrongly lashed out at someone while drunk. Once.

    Slight difference.

And I'm laughing at the example of Pearson as being a "second time" failure. He played in the last match of the season against Rochdale and the first match of this season against Chesterfield. He wasn't ours for a grand total of 3 months and is 20 years old so I'm at a loss as to what could have changed. Did he mysteriously age 15 years on a trip to Tenerife or summat?

We need to change something, and a common complaint has been that we don't have enough experience and too many loans. I don't think there are a great number of players who have experience, are reasonably fit and are available permanently. I'm not saying it's guaranteed to work out but I don't see what we stand to lose if it turns out he's ****. He's not exactly going to bring our unbeaten run crashing to a halt is he?

my lads 15, been watching them 10 years when you post stuff like this go and ask a 15 year old if he knows about his problems , i,ll tell you now he wouldn,t have a clue , or be that bothered, i,m certainly not worried about my lad worshipping Adam Hammil , infact give me a name that any child has worshipped over the last 10 years, i,m not pleased about state of club but this is a no risk signing for me

Nobody is mentioning his past other than you. Good grief, let it go, it's a non-point.

The two best ways for us to improve right now are by adding wingers and adding experience. Boxes ticked.
