Hmmmmmm! I have a mate who is a Forest fan and he said to me yesterday that he hopes they lose to Wednesday so that Derby have a better chance of being relegated. Absolutely crazy stuff
He’ll walk though won’t he, unless they sack him. It will be his first and last go at management. It amazes me how these ex-players think they can just slot in at such a high level. We recruited Allan Clarke to be player manager of a Fourth Division team and it worked perfectly. He got too big for his boots though and went back to Leeds too soon
There was a load of ****** about Rooney on the BBC website earlier in the season, praising him on his management style and I thought the lad had only been managing for a few matches, how can you big him up like that when he's achieved nothing elsewhere in terms of being a manager? A poor appointment in my opinion. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/55662864.amp
The move to management for ex-players used to be a financial necessity for them. Now it's just a way to keep themselves relevant and busy after retirement. You hear the usual rubbish come out of their mouths like they "want to give something back to football", but if that were the case they would go and manage in a youth academy or smaller club for a peppercorn wage(is that the right term?)....
Put a couple of decent forwards in the Forest team and they'd do alright. They have some good players but no end result. Wednesday have Bannon who at least looks concerned about his task.
