Yeah but for most of them forty years we weren’t permitted five substitutions.

No issue with what he did today: perfectly logical.

It’s all supposition, only DC knows why.
It might be to give players game time or as he said in his interview after the last game there had been injuries and viruses in the camp, so maybe players had just run out of steam for one reason or another.

I thought Pines looked a bit knackered today. He wasn’t long back from injury when he was thrown back into the team because of Roberts & Earl being out. I can fully understand why he and Earl were replaced with fresh legs.

Another thing today Max was lucky to score and he knew it, all goal to aim for he hits keeper then chuff me Phillips does exactly same straight from the kick off, put it to far post or lift it over keeper ffs

I think Max thought he was going to dive a second earlier, which then it would have loved a calm, clinical finish. Unfortunately, he didn't do it that split second earlier, but fortunately it mattered little because it ended up going in. Hopefully gives the lad some confidence because at the very beginning of his time here, the only thing he seemed capable of doing was clinical finishing and his overall game was weak, it seems to be opposite now

Clarke said Pines has a ‘tight thigh’ and was feeling it a bit. He wanted to give players ‘minutes’
