I went to Wilthorpe infants and then junior school whilst living on Moorbank Close, Wilthorpe. Grew up on Cutty Lane, Old Town. Lived on Bond Road and now on Huddersfield Road. Hudds Road is Barnsley. Town Centre.

Below Huddersfield Road is also Barnsley, then into Honeywell below Cavendish/Cockerham.

College Fields estate is officially Old Town. Not in my book, but technically it is.

I spent many happy years living on Huddersfield Road end of Granville Street which I always considered to be Old Town.
Really, really miss it, not least The Miners.

I'd consider that Town End / Kingstone personally.

I’d say that side of Huddersfield Road was Old Town ,just . Honeywell for me was the other side of the railway tracks below Caxton Street going towards Raley School

I grew up on Smithies Lane & went to Wilthorpe Infants & Juniors, (although due to ill health didn't attend much till after I'd had a heart operation, aged 7). A few of my mates live in what i consider Old Town, the area identified by @sadbrewer pretty much.

Sorry, Aggie Rooad and Princess Street are miles away from Kingstone, and whilst the bottom end of Princess Street finishes not far from Tarn End, it’s too far away to be linked.

Grew up not far away and that area never really had a name.

I grew up on Wilthorpe Road near The Crescent, then Cavendish Road, and finally my parents moved to Westbourne Grove which is close to Barnsley Girls' High School..

Ah that explains it then. My time living in Rowland Road was late 60s into 1970 but I joined the RAF 1 Sep 70 so obviously left home then
