Don’t you think the media are the ‘double agents’ of all this? They report some things that are blatantly not true, that increase panic buying.

The media aren't the reason for a huge labour shortage, for us having 100k too few lorry drivers, not being able to import food as quickly as we used to etc. No, that's the fault of 17million idiots who either didn't think or didn't care about the consequences of their actions

Had a delivery from Sainsburys yesterday. Original bill was £87, due to items not being available the final bill was £22.

Your choice of Australia as a comparison to our situation is a strange choice it's a massive country where trips from one city to another by road can takes weeks never mind days, a country not I5 miles away from its biggest trade partner and which doesn't have a direct road / rail transport connection with that partner. The fact they have shortages is one thing the fact we can't get stuff from Europe in a day or two now when we did before Brexit without issue is another matter. The fact our supermarkets are basically running on empty should concern everybody.

Whilst you are right in that this is the real reason for shortages, the media do create panic buying creating worse shortages.
Last year, if the media didn’t report toilet roll shortages, millions of people wouldn’t have dashed out to buy a trolley full of them.
If the media didn’t make a petrol station in Southampton running out of fuel their headline news, millions of people with 3/4 of a tank wouldn’t have shot to their local Esso with a Jerry can.
Quite right that Brexit has created supply issues, but the media whip up the frenzy that sends the media obsessed sheep into a panic buying frenzy making a bad situation worse.

I hate lard & I can't swim. Australia & the UK are at other ends of the world & their travel restrictions & equally right wing paranoid government might explain things somewhat? The idea we were moving to a high wage economy was only written on the back of a *** packet 2 months ago, when everything went pair shaped. Before that there was £350 million for the NHS. Where did that go? Even Chien Lee's accountant couldn't lose that kind of money.

Like the Primal Scream bit though.

Those 17 million idiots only had the ‘false’ facts they were given to go on. And with all respect to you and your political beliefs, both parties are clowns.

Anybody with a working brain cell who thought it through logically should have come to the conclusion that Brexit was a bad idea to start with made a million times worse by a Moron and his clown squad forcing it through at the last minute not giving a **** about the long term consequences to the country of his oven ready deal that didn't exist until his mate Dom cooked it up with 5 minutes to go before the deadline. Don't try and blame labour for the current mess it is exclusively one made on the playing fields of Eton started by Dave the coward and finished by Bojo the clown. You could say it's a big helping of Eton mess. :D:D:D

Dunno, but why would you deliberately create shortages and then deny that they are happening? Unless they are Looking for another bogus reason to explain the shortages of course.....
