    I was there that night
Not only did we out play them we even out sang them all match
Then to rub salt into the wound at the end of the game, we sang their you'll never walk alone song ...those on the Kop didn't walk out, they just stood there and applauded us
If Dec Parker had been playing that night I reckon we would have won....not taking anything from the dustbin man Colin walker as he gave 110°\° and put a shift in but he wasn't in the same league as Parker
Never seen fog as bad in all my years ( I'm 68 soon) pea soup springs to mind, at times it was like looking through the bathroom window it was that bad
There were accidents galore, we passed a lorry with the side of its trailer completely ripped out, arrived 10 minutes after kick off some weren't that lucky ...fantastic night, even now thinking about it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up ....Happy memories

Was an incredible night. The bloke who came dashing up the steps after battling his way through the fog in the 93rd minute. He shouted to everyone
    “How long left??”
    “Anytime now mate”
    “Blow the ******* whistle ref!!!”

Went with coach and horses Ardsley. Bus was from Ackworth, it was knackered and didn't go above 30 mph all way even in the not foggy bits. Got there for last 10 mins. Turned round in my seat to ask bloke behind how we were playing? He said, very well. It was Bobby Collins.
Also that night my grandad and nanan went on a different coach and got there pre kickoff. She suffered from angina and was struggling, so police took them to avoid crowd. They watched game from behind the dugouts.
